Re: I am the mini, yeppp the Mini ;)
today is Mini day!
here some updates about the roll cage, rear spoiler and rear suspension....
so, lets start with the wheels. I am using wheels and tires from mitsubishi evo wrc... but have to change the style a bit to look closer to the original wheels...
I drill the mid part and also extra strut wholes...
have to paint them into white and try to figure out Hubs and discs to go with these wheels...
next was to attack the trunk roof top spoiler as it was too big compared to original WRC...
this is how it looks at the moment..
I have been searching for original photos of rear differential and drive shaft + the suspension arms... finally found some reference photos and decided to build my own...
I had a spare 206 WRC suspension arms which were a bit look a like. but had to modify them to look alike Mini's....
first of all, to make enough space, I had to cut part of the oil tank....
and then re-construct the suspension arms from 206 with the help of some styrene rods....
this is how the floor panel looks at the moment...
I also drill a whole on the roof for a later air intake...
and the roll cage;
earlier, I finished only the rear half. so, had to construct the front...
almost finished! just need to add some strength parts to the cage...
to see how the cage looks with the with the buckets seats......
looks ok to me
and last thing was to give a more accurate look to the inside of the trunk...
I drill some wholes to give more factory made look. later will be painted white, I hope it will look better...
next update will most probably be about the Dampers and the exhaust...
still couldn't figure out how to set up the exhaust pipe around/under/over the differential and axles....
if any of you might help me to stick some photos under the car that I can see how the exhaust pipe settled around the rear differential, I will be very happy...
contributions, contributions....
so, thats about a week job.
there is still so many details and custom parts to prepare.... this is way more challenging and time consuming then I was thinking it would be...
but, enjoying it..

Hi Omer,
Much respect! Love the detail you're putting into this build. A real labour of love! I'd hate to think how many hours you have spent researching and building this project, but good on you. fabulous work.
Can't wait to see the end result. I expect you're the same! Keep it going. All the very best, Steve

I am seriously in need of photo of the rear end underneath the car. especially; the rear differential, axles, and the position of the exhaust pipe!

so, for rally germany I shouldn't put the last silencer and make it loud
now, have to figure out how the exhaust pipe goes around the rear differential....

Re: I am the mini, yeppp the Mini ;)
ok, guys here are some little updates of this week.
comments & suggestions welcome
first drilled the side skirts for the jack stands...
next up was the top of the oil tank
scratch build made of styrene sheets in three pieces. have to paint matt black and then will be carbon fiber decalled
add some more styrene sheets to the engine bay to give more realistic look...
had to build front suspension chassis supports...
and building the front axle supports
this is how she looks at the moment, still need to add control arms....
a small fit test for the engine to see how she squeeze in
after this test, I realized that I have a new headache
I have to scratch build the lower oil cover of the engine and a new gear box.....

voooow....
I just realized that the last update I made was more then 3 weeks ago....
this is going to be a small update as I have been busy moving house. and this work was the last work at the old flat
since the front bumper is detachable, I decided to make the rear bumper same way as well. this way, we will also see the oil cooler

Words just don't describe Omer 's builds. Not many if any has detail like that in their models. CLASS Omer. Now that will be something else when complete.
