Surely with this amount of detail, this will "fire up" at the first turn of the key!!!!

The yoghurt lids work extremely well- I will have to use them myself - after all, I'm forever finding useful pieces of plastic in the kitchen for my model building, so why not some metal lids too?
Always a pleasure reading your posts, Omer.
Keep 'em coming!
Cheers and best wishes, Steve
thank you Steve once again for your kind and supportive comments.
likewise, any piece can be useful in modelling. always searching for right material and shape

Re: I am the mini, yeppp the Mini ;)
Been another long while I touched my models or any projects as I packed them all last May.
But for emergency I kept my projects around
and had some time to work on the ever lasting Mini last week.
Started to attach some mini magnets to the body to hold the doors more steady when shut. also did the same to the roof as the roof can be removal when project finished...
and after the magnets and the front bumper details finished I also used White primer to cover the car before the paint
so let's see what I did during the last week...
Well, also had to modify the door cards as the roll cage tubes were not letting the doors close properly...
Front bumper also get his threat...
also cancelled the side blinkers
at a later stage will get carbon fiber treatment as well as many other parts...
doors still need to get their white primer but here she is ready for the test drive

Re: I am the mini, yeppp the Mini ;)
My carbon parts just arrived from Prodrive
Just kidding, lately carbon wrap some parts and they are ready to go on the model soon....
The inner arch covers also got their treatment...
for the carbon fibre decals, I used Studio 27 and Scale motorsports find both of them very flexible and easy to apply. even though my job was not 100% perfect, the decals ended up with a good result.
I also finished the rear end exhausts... they are also prepared using styrene tubes and covered with foil and painted in matt gold... later will also do some weathering to have more accurate finish...
and awaiting for my new Brake set from Alcon/Prodrive
next update will probably about the brake set....
keep following

Ted, I'd say it's better than the real thing - it takes up a lot less space and the running costs are a fraction of the original too!
That said, Omer seems to spend as much time building his model as Prodrive did the original!!
Brilliant work, as ever, Omer. Keep it going!!
Cheers, Steve

Re: I am the mini, yeppp the Mini ;)
thank you very much gentlemen for your kind support and attention on this model. and more importantly for your patience as it takes forever...
Steve you are totally right, I guess this becomes such a detailed model that I am almost doing an engineering on it as many parts are scratch build up on photo references only... and they are mostly hand made. therefore, it makes it more and more difficult to build and find solutions to prepare the parts....
anyway, this model became a great learning and experience curve for me. and the mistakes or experiences I made is making the Golf7 build easier... thats another tough cookie as well but don't think I will make it as detailed as the Mini... we will see
thank you again to all for kind support and comments...
hope I can spare some time soon back on Mini as I am currently trying to build some progress on Golf as there will be some parts will be send to UK for a special paint treatment...

Re: I am the mini, yeppp the Mini ;)
a Mini update!
been long I have been trying to figure out a way to have the correct design Brake discs. unfortunately, not many options with 8 line discs in PE...
until I have seen Hobby design's GT86 Rocket Bunny body Kit. this kit had the correct shape disc brakes and in a nice setting. I had to have them, but the kit only itself was costing over 120usd.... just to have the brake set was a great cost...
but I couldn't resist anymore and thanks to a modeller mate, he wanted to have the kit minus the brake kits. so I pulled the finger and bought the kit....
here is what I got from the Kit for my Mini build....
and I had to figure out a way to merge with the hubs I have in hand using in the Mini. therefore a surgery was necessary to merge the 3D Hobby design brake kit and my Autoart Hubs...
after putting together and some paint...
and here they are in their resting place
This was a great relief until I figure out that the diameter of the front and rear brakes are same!
Now I have to find the same design in a smaller diameter for rear's..... this will be even harder to figure out and find...
any suggestions for this kind of brake discs will be highly appreciated! Which AA model in 1/18 has these 8 line Brake discs in PE form?
look forward to your suggestions people!
thanks
