I am lost for words looking at the detail being achieved. I always love seeing your builds Omar but this is a whole new level. Real patience and dedication required.
Keep up the magnificent work and looking forward to seeing the next instalment.

Truly outstanding work. Your patience and level of detail never fails to impress. Bravo!!
Stops me from getting smug about my 1/43 scale builds!!!
Don't stop building and taking photos, Omer. They are very worthwhile and a superb way of sharing what you are achieving. Keep going my friend and thank you for posting the pictures and keeping us up to date.
Cheers, Steve
Thank you Steve.
I guess I am challenging my patience too far...
oh, don't tell me about 1/43! I have seen some amazing works with 1/43 models.... so much amazed that I feel shame with these 18's....
thank you again Steve for your encouragement and support to my builds.

Unreal build Omer. The level of detail is outstanding. I never thought id see a rally model that would outdo your cosworth but this is gone far beyond that. I know you'll never part with it but this should be in prodrives museum alongside the 1:1

Re: I am the mini, yeppp the Mini ;)
thanks to your amazing comments, gave me another push to work a bit more on the model before I left shanghai for a month...
been checking all the details over the reference photos I have in hand. they are all in different angles and sometimes can make me fail and make mistakes
this is the third time I have been building the front carriage and the control arms. but now I can easily tell that this time it's in the correct position
and besides the front carriage, I also started to build the rear one... I am missing some parts and supplies so it's not finished yet. have to order some stuff and when back home in shanghai will continue as I am really looking forward to this build standing on its feet...
ohhhh, by the way a question to you guys...
what would be the best glue for Brass? I tried to solder them but didn't work well with my skills
was wondering if there is any special glue you guys can suggest me. I used Mr. hobby instant glue but I don't feel its strong enough
last was, trying to shape the hood air intakes... still need some fine shaping and filling some gaps... but this is how she looks so far...
till next one, hope you guys enjoy this short one

Omer you are the man. It has progressed from being a model to a work of art.
Your attention to detail is out of this world.

Re: I am the mini, yeppp the Mini ;)
So, here comes some small but big steps for the Mini....
these are her first steps of standing up on her own
last time, it was my first trial with soldering and frankly speaking I screw up... and lost all my hope using solder
was looking for some other solutions to glue the brass parts. but then I decided to give another try and it seems I succeed this time
here are the latest progress on the Mini....
first started to solder the front carrier
and then sand file and shape the soldering
and then same for rear...
and then next challenge was to build the rear control arms...
started with adding nuts to the hub
next up was building the arms
I also drill a whole to the suspension I made earlier. this way I could screw it to the strut tops...
this is what the rear suspension and shocks looks a like at this moment
still need a lot bits to scratch build to finish the rear tho....
and last photos from the stance....
front
and the rear...
I guess I need to lower the rear height just a small bit....
so, thats about now I guess...
oh one last photo....
this is how she sits on her legs for the first time after one and half years

Re: I am the mini, yeppp the Mini ;)
Congratulations again, Omer.
It must give you a great deal of pleasure seeing the MINI sitting on its wheels after all that time, and looking so good too!
I'm certain my statement above is true as it's giving me a great deal of pleasure seeing the photographs and I'm sitting thousands of miles away and haven't been the one creating the car from scratch!!
Keep it going, Omer. You are making wonderful progress. yes, it may be slow progress, but you woudn't want to rush it and make mistakes!!
All the very best, and looking forward to the enxt instalments, Steve

Ah your tricking is Omer!
Admit it, you've bought a real Mini WRC, dismantled it and are now taking pictures of it.
Stunning work, I never thought this kind of detail could be put into a 1/18 model. Looking forward to seeing this completed

ok, ok, ok Brian.
yes, I did buy the Sordo 2012 Germany car just to replicate this 18
but frankly speaking if I continue this way, the model will almost cost me a WRC

Re: I am the mini, yeppp the Mini ;)
ok guys!
time for another small update and once more it starts with the front suspension carriage
I know this is the forth time but the final one!
I rebuild the front suspension carriage as the previous one was not that correct design. so, I give it a last try and fix all mistakes.
so, here comes the photos to do the talk....
and trying on the control arms..
but then decided to build it using a styrene rod instead of the brass
finally, the 3D printed hood scoop arrived. but there were some small design differences... so, with a bit of putty I do the trick
oooopppsss, another Mini?
now she has a sister
the height difference between a road one compared to WRC...
so, thats about now...

Astounding, Omer. Fabulous work, again/ still!!
Amazing detail, quite awe-inspiring. Superb. Where do Ib stop with the praise?!
Ignore Paul! You don't want to get this far then rush to complete it this week and possibly not finish it to the standard you have carried out the rest of the work.
Of course, you could answer Paul's question of 'Finished in time for xmas?' by answering, 'yes', but not specifying which Christmas!!
Well done that man!!
Cheers, Steve
