Billy...absolutely fantastic..well done...ref the next project imo i would find another identical instead of using the 1 you have...and i know its all money but would be worth it in the end..that martini car is mint.
Re: bmd's projects....or attempts should i say!
Are you going to ruin that Cosworth?
Sell it to me, I'll save it! It'll look nice next to its 1/43 counterparts.

Re: bmd's projects....or attempts should i say!
lads, many thanks for the input...
gary, aye i know m8, its a hard call, but i have 4 cossies in the collection, and with new models from aa, otto and sunstar all to find places, something has to give....the other 3 will def not be sacrificed, i'm just not so sure about this martini one.... really hoping the ascona can be done, she's gorgeous....
juha, that might be an idea, but they're not cheap m8 as you know lol!!! then i'd have to buy and convert a road-going one anway....let me think....
paul, cheers m8, haven't stripped either base yet so things could change, i'll take onboard all comments and suggestions before getting the tools out lol!!

Re: bmd's projects....or attempts should i say!
The reason I said that, was because that Cossie looks mint in those pics. All decals are there, undamaged, and the car is white, not broken white after too much sunlight exposure. It looks too nice to strip.
Re: bmd's projects....or attempts should i say!
I'm with Juha, leave that Martini one alone you monster!!!

Re: bmd's projects....or attempts should i say!
ok,ok, gary, for petes sake!!!
aye thanks juha, comments appreciated m8.....she is mint alright, my displays are in my basement so never get affected by sunlight thankfully.....i've pulled back from touching it at the moment, maybe you guys are right and i should look for either a road one for conversion or a less-than-perfect rally model.....plus i have several mk2 escorts in the collection, at least one of which will hopefully be converted into another vat-man car, if the decals can be upscaled successfully.... this would free up another space, so i wouldnt have to sacrifice my cossie.......i like the idea of having no more than 3 examples of each model in different liveries, but i suppose exceptions can be made for cossies, scoobies, etc lol!!
decisions, decisions...................i used to be indecisive you know.........or was i? no maybe i wasn't...........but then again i think i was............can't be sure.............might have been............!!!

Re: bmd's projects....or attempts should i say!
Glad you decided to leave as is Billy. While the Martini and Yacco cars dont have the best liverys in my opinion, its still to nice to strip as yours is still in mint condition. If your willing to wait, you will get a proper rally version for small money (small money as far as UT escorts go)
I have 2 cosworths here that i picked up cheap enough that arent good enough to display, but thats fine, as i bought them specially to strip. Still need at least one more though.
