Bertie Fisher 1:18 'Gold Card' opel manta 400....1984 Lombard RAC Rally
ok, so i took one of these...
took her apart, removed the dash for swapping over to r/h drive... plus floor ancilliaries...
stripped her, repainted the shell in white, with a couple of gold panels...
rebuilt her, taking away the round auxiliary lamps and replacing them with a plain panel...
and decalled her up....
and with her wee cousin...
havent glued the wipers in place, in the hope that i can get a pair of r/h ones, but no big deal if i dont....like most of my attempts, not 100% perfect, but happy enough, first one i've seen in 1:18 so not bad...

1:18 lynch focus wrc
so, having finished the fisher manta for the meantime, today i took one of these....
stripped her, removed extra aerials and camera box, repainted roof.....one of the choices with this conversion is either use a sunstar focus with correct door mirrors and wrong wheels, or solido one with correct wheels but wrong mirrors....having already done a trial on a sunstar one, and not at all happy with the finished wheels/axle set-up, i am now going for a soldo base and i will attempt to use sunstar mirrors, hence small black mark on each door at the moment... the wheels, ride height and stance are so much better...

Manta looks great Billy. May be in touch if i can find another manta. Great to see something different.
For the focus, a sunstar with wheels from a sunstar xsara will fit, although you will need to mod them a bit as they are a bit narrow if you just do a straight swop

Re: bmd's projects....or attempts should i say!
I must have missed your photos of the finished Pug, Billy - that really does look class mate. I bet you're well pleased with how it turned out aren't you?
Loving that Manta too mate, nice to see it in the bigger scale for a change.

how I missed the Manta Billy, I love the way it turned out. beautiful model comes up to life! congrat with your new boy.
and I am also very excited to see the Focus. One of my favorite motors which I would like to see in my collection one day. but I believe this car should have done from a proper producer such as AA or may be Kyosho
anyway, looking forward to your project

Billy
how did you like the Solido quality? easy to work with? compared to Sun star which has better details and quality?
any suggestion for me?
thanks in advance

Re: bmd's projects....or attempts should i say!
both much of a muchness m8 (sorry, over here that means theres not much difference ); as i said above, one has the wrong wheels, one has the wrong mirrors, so you will have to adapt one of them.............

1:18 Vatanen Toshiba Escort WRC
as well as the kpl focus which i've recently started, i today got stuck into this.....now no shouting at me you cossie-boys , i just love this livery and have to have a go...
this is what i'm aiming for...
base...
stripped...
new interior to be adapted to replace the road-going set-up...
thats it for now, as well as adapting the interior, i have to adjust a rally dash to fit, then a respray, and hope to have sourced a set of rims, not exact replicas but not far away...
