1/18 BMW M3 Denis Cronin Cork 20 Rally 2003

Its been a busy few weeks as Ive been working though the latest batch of decals. Finished the Connolly M3, built a 1/24 civic and 1/18 mk2 as customer builds for local drivers and now finally the last decal set of Cronins M3.

I had this on display at the show back in July, but it had home printed decals. Now its got the proper decals on it, it looks much better. Took more work than I originally had planned, the base model had the usual Rothmans strips along the sides and roof. When I removed the doorplate from the base, there was no gold strip behind and the Cork 20 doorplate would not cover the gap. So instead of trying to match the colour, I removed them all and made my own by cutting lengths of gold metal foil from a sheet. Then a thin red decal across the top. Thats all the builds I have decals for at the moment so will be back to drawing again for a while. I have several other decal sets ready to go for printing, hoping to add several more in the coming weeks.

What are the other 5 versions?

Coleman. Working on a conversion set of decals to cover the red on the boot and C pillars. The blue is proving very hard to match
McHale Black-might be able to help with decals.

Complete history of GXI9427 in Irish hands so:
Coleman COI............ Will try get blue sprayed, too large for decals. Try #252552 as the colour. Thats what I used on the roof decal of the Cronin car and its not a bad match
Fisher..................... Havnt even looked at this myself as Im sure someone else will have decals available (hint hint rory haha)
Connolly...................done
Nesbitt.................... Need to source pictures, ive only got the one.
Eugene Meeghan....... need any pictures, only found out recently he had the car for a short while
Cronin..................... done

Then McHale in Xtravision because its such an iconic car in Irish rally history. Ive still got a few models to use as bases but Im still going to need 3 more Fina cars. 2 for myself then one to build a model of for his own car for a local guy

Your a bad man Rory. I cant go down that route, needs to have an Irish connection to fit into my collection and I dont think the Manx was an ITC round back then. Being in the Irish Sea is not enough
