Re: I've finally fnished something!!!
That is stunning mate! Not that I have built done any other models, but the 6R4's seem to be the hardest car to do with all the wings etc so to convert an original into that takes alot of time, pateince and skill. And you have created a stunning model Simon
Re: I've finally fnished something!!!
WOW Simon! I agree totally with the rest of the lads, that is looks absolutely awesome mate!
That livery was one of my 'pencilled in' several dozen of possible future projects to contemplate at some point on the horizon! Now that I have seen your excellent result, it may we inspire me to move mine up the list a little - but don't hold your breath....
The rallycross Group B cars certainly do seem to make some stunning models! Nice one mate -top marks for showing us something different!

Hi Simon,
I echo the earlier comments. I know from doing the same mods on my Rob Gibson model what's involved in removing the door pods, front splitter and I had to remove most of the rear valence too for that one. Great work!
I can remember Steve Palmer first collecting the car on the back of a flatbed lorry at Brands Hatch when it was white with blue. I have some pics and video of him using it in Practica liveries, but not this particular one, though it features on one of the Rallycross Grand Prix on Youtube, I recall.
Congrats, Steve

This is my current project; Will Gollop Metro 6r4 1987 Rallycross- Internations Cup.
Started with Altaya CV car, stripped & resprayed, front lower apron taken off, extra rear spoiler fin fitted. Decals from Vitor. Almost finished, just detail painting, windows & wipers to fit

OOOOH! Loving that, Simon. Great stuff. Vitor's posted my decals. Can't wait to get them and make the model myself.
You have got a wonderful finish there, Simon. How many coats of lacquer did you use, or are you blessed with a silky touch with the paint gun? Will be fabbo when it's finished. Congratulations!
Steve

All these Rallycross models I will have to do a page on my 6R4 site along with rally model 6r4's so if anyone wants me to show off their Code 3 6R4's then let me know

Thanls Steve. Because I use an airbrush, the airbrush paint has a matt finish so it has to be clearcoated. I gave this 2 coats of clearcoat, really pleased with the result

Re: I've finally fnished something!!!
That looks bloomin' awesome Simon - top quality job there mate.
I actually saw the photos yesterday afternoon, but as I was only looking at them from my mobile phone, I thought I'd wait till I saw them properly on my PC before commenting. I was not disappointed when I eventually did just now mate - spot on job, and cannot wait to see it completed.
