Good man Brian, I took a while to pick mine as well and I'm still not sure,
There's 25 members so far that have picked their Top 5 so thanks Lad's,
Over the last week 95 different members have sighed in so I hope to see more votes by Wednesday night,

Could always do Dom Buckley in the GrpA Impreza in the Rally of Canberra 1999. Or since it will more likely be another ugly Metro we could just do a limited release of two for you and me. We could do it as a very limited world exclusive.

32 Members have voted for their Top 5 but it's still a long way off the 95 that have logged in over the last week or so,
There is a bit of a overlap in the voting and the model out in front is sitting at about 10 with a lot of models sitting between 7 & 9 votes,
If things were to keep on this trend then the final model would be looking at about 10/15+ units being ordered,

So as not to cut this short and have it fall flat on it's ass I think we should let this side of the voting run to the weekend,
This should give members who only log in once/twice a week a chance to see whats going on and have their vote,
I'm not expecting to get all 95 votes in but it would be good to get as many votes as possible to gauge how well the final model will do,

If anyone doesn't agree with any part of the above or has any suggestions then let me know what you think,

This Suggestions thread was open for about a week before we each started to pick our Top 5 from it,
It's a pity you didn't get a chance to get your suggestions in on time but to start adding more in now would scrap the voting and have us back at the start,
I'm sure you can find a model on the list as there's a lot of class models that haven't been done yet and a very varied mix on the list,

Was thinking about this earlier, a fairer vote would have been if people had picked one model from each group, then put the one with the highest number of votes from each group into the final vote and which ever car gets the most in it wins. The way it is now we could end up with 3 or 4 of the same type car in the final vote.

Yes and no. That would guarantee a 6R4 would be the model. Whatever chance us non metro 6R4 nuts have is that the current system will split the 6R4 vote.

As stated elsewhere I hope some modelbuilders are taking notice of what could sell and we might just see some of the "runner-up" models being made.

Cazzo, I was not asking to add to the list, simply replying to Lachlan's post. The suggestion of the car was for our collections being Aussie based even though Dom is not from our shores. But damn he was giving it heaps and added interest to the event. As to adding to the initial discussion about drivers/events etc, I have left that to the subject matter experts as we don't see much about the Irish rally scene other than some videos. Sad really as it appears the Irish scene is one of the strongest in the world.

srsmodels, not sure how that can put a nail in the project. Nowhere did I say a forum model was a bad idea. I actually think it is a good idea. What I did state was that I think the Metro 6r4 is an ugly car. That is my opinion and I will stand by it. It has not stopped me having them in my collection and possibly have others added to it in the future. They were a part of the Group B era which as well as the Grp4 (GrpG in Aust) to me were the best eras. I know some will argue the '90s were better. The only car I have refused to buy is the Citroen SM Proto. That is even uglier than the Metro.

Hi Mal,

When I read SRS''s comment on your suggestion being a nail in the coffin, I'd read it that if there were only two models made of the Forum 'special', (as in the case of it being the possible run of two cars you'd mentioned in your post) that would be a nail in the coffin for the project. The ideal would be to have a model made, at reasonable cost, that as many Forum members as possible would want and cherish in their collection.

That's my interpretation, anyway. I wouldn't like to think of anyone getting upset about comments made or misunderstood on the Forum. I know, from my own experiences, that it is possible for this to happen all too easily, hence I often use the smilies to emphasise how a phrase is intended!

Carry on the great work Colin. Looking forward to stage 2 of the voting happening and thanks guys for clearing up a possible misunderstanding about my own involvement with the Biggerstaff 6R4. Yes, I would be making it for myself soon IF it is not created as the Forum special, but I am not nor will I volunteer to make a run of models - I simply don't have the time. Hope that helps.
