Teds Opel & Vauxhall Run 12 & 13 August 2017

As posted elsewhere we were asked to put on a display of Opel and vauxhall cars from our collections so hopefully here under are photos from the day.

Having bother uploading photos - they load initially correctly but then do a 180 - Donie was in fact sitting down on the job . not standing on his head !!

Photos taken in evening time in a dimly lit hotel foyer with bright light reflecting from outside but at least you get a flavour of the 140/150 Opel/Vauxhall/holden models we had on display. The usual thanks go to those who helped make decals and build the models with as ever a special mention for Sean Buckley. Three Rosemary Smith Opel models made their debut on this event. Also a mention for Chris Newton who made a special effort to get the Trophy Andros Astra to me on time.

A superb display with such variery of cars and liveries - something for (almost) everyone. I'm a little jealous of the flat floors an good lighting you had - unlike most of my displays in fields (keeping out of the rain or direct sunshine) of cowsheds (!). Love the gravity-defying Donie shot too!!

When doing the clear up Donie and myself put our combined collections of HSR's together and took the above photos - not one you will see everyday. For the eagle eyed among you , yes there are two HS's!!!

Lovely display, as expected! A lot of work, again, by the lads to get this up and running - no mean achievement. Well done to all involved. Not far off a roadshow, at this stage

Roadshow - not likely. 5 hours to dismantle and rebox and half an hour longer to set up That's with a third person boxing and unboxing for an hour . Huge hassle so not for the feint hearted .  May be away for Duhallow

One photo not taken - the Blitz trailer and Ascona A . Might take one for completion in a day or two

.............This OPEL Show also clashed with another Model display for a TOYOTA gathering just 20 minutes away where we had a 8ft x 4ft diarama of a Rally Stage and collection Toyota rally cars displayed on the stage.......all making for a very busy weekend...
