Most strange The only thing I could think to do, would be to check the end time of the listing against the actual time to see how long it really has to go

That Colibri escort I sold and extortion from buyers
I'm getting fed up with flogging cars now check this out:- Ongoing so please don't plaster it all over as yet.......
The buyer opened a case: Item doesn't match the description
Additional information:
"The Aerial is missing. I was very careful when opening the package and I have checked several times on where you said you had put the aerial but I cannot find it"
The buyer requested:
A partial refund of £30.00.
Your message to the buyer:
"The aerial is stuck to the tape on the polystyrene box? Check the tape first, I checked this before I sent it. Regards, Jus"
Buyer's message:
"I found it but the way you packaged it was not good. The tape is stuck on the aerial and it's very difficult to remove it- You should have put in a small plastic bag- the aerial is of no use "
Your message to the buyer:
"OK, Please send the car back with the damaged aerial and I will give you a full refund. Kind Regards, Jus"
Buyer's message:
"Will you also pay my postage cost for the refund Thank you"
Your message to the buyer:
"I am not obliged to and you have to provide proof of postage and tracking.
However, I understand that you first thought that you had a car with a missing aerial and fair enough I would be straight onto the resolution centre too.
However to now expect 30 quid for an aerial with a bit of sticky residue on is a bit unfair. I'm not out to rip anyone off and you got a fair price. I apologise but it seemed the best place to put the aerial as the guy I had bought it from had done exactly the same thing. Let me know what you wanna do. Regards, Jus"
Buyer's message:
"Hello Throughout the whole transactions you have been very fair & understanding and I do not doubt you integrity at all. You are an honest and a nice gentlemen. I apologies if I sounded rude with a reduction of £30.00. I like the model and hate to send it back . If you can please come with a reasonable offer for a refund then we can shake hands and close the case. I await your proposal-thank you"
Refund information:
A partial refund of £5.00 through PayPal. If the buyer accepts your offer, issue a refund by 11 Oct, 2013.
Your note:
"This is my gesture of good will. Regards, Jus"
No response so far, my paypal's in negative and my account is frozen

Re: e-bay and/or paypal problems/issues
Thats not good. I have found since Ebay have taken away the option for a seller to leave negative feedback, some buyers are trying it on more and more.

Yeah it's extortion plain and simple and I reckon ebay will suffer as more and more sellers figure it's just not worth the hassle any more. It's just too one sided. If I can't leave neg other sellers will be caught on his extortion racket too.

Re: e-bay and/or paypal problems/issues
totally agree Justin...ebay is very one-sided against the seller, they forget who actually pays their wages!!! I've seen some sellers leave negative comments in the comments box after selecting positive f'back option............ that's an idea I suppose....

Re: e-bay and/or paypal problems/issues
Trouble is I always leave feedback when I dispatch to give my buyers piece of mind during the transit period.
I guess what is really happening is that I'm trying to hard to be a Gentleman in an ever increasing barbaric world that they call business.
In the old days being moral and honourable was seen as desirable in trading and transactions and to the majority of like minded people it still is.
However this has now changed.
Ebay is applying big business practices and returns policies to small time sellers and those sellers haven't got a chance. Buyers now know that ebay finds in their favour and can hold their sellers to ransom over anything they want.
I'm expecting a neg and a trashed car Even though I sent it mint and accepted a low Best Offer.
I guess I'll have to wait and see "if" I get it back and how trashed it is.

Re: e-bay and/or paypal problems/issues
OK got it back. The aerial has been ripped apart but I can fix this.
Just a faff as I'll have to re-photograph everything with new aerial before re-listing.

Re: e-bay and/or paypal problems/issues
My wife had a meeting last night with her mates and I was politely asked to "make meself scarce"
So I went to the shed and had a look at me aerial.
The base which attaches to the car was the only serviceable bit left. So I cut the aerial off and made the top flush.
Next I measured the aerial diameter, 0.7mm thick it was plastic painted silver.
I had welding rods but they were 1.2mm and 0.95mm Then I came across a small paper clip (I'm a hoarder extraodinaire by the way!) The paper clip was 0.72mm thick which is passable.
So I set to drilling the base I have one of them jewellers drill and drill bit sets which did the trick nice, straightened the paperclip and cut it to right length and filed to a nice finish it fitted perfectly a perfect replacement looked just like the original aerial whooo hoo.!
But then I realised The aerial that comes with minichamps looks shit 0.7mm is far to thick and looks toy like.
So I then remembered some acupuncture needles I'd bought for the precise reason of replacing aerials.
They have a little spring type end and are made from medical grade stainless so dead straight and no finishing needed.
spring end is about 1.2mm dia and aerial is 0.4mm which looks far more realistic.
So I chopped down the spring end to about 10mm and straightened off with some needle files, slid the 0.4mm end through into the newly drilled hole and glued in place. Then slid the spring down and repainted the black base as it too had been scratched up pretty bad too.
So here's and idea of the previous attempt on my 205
It's all currently drying in my vice but I will be sure to take photo's soon and upload up here.
So in a nutshell I'm quite chuffed.
A: Being able to sustain that level of concentration especially since giving up fags.
B: Finally being able to disassociate the shed as a smoking den
and C: Improving a situation that looked pretty grim a week or so ago.

Re: e-bay and/or paypal problems/issues
nice work Justin, for future ref m8, fuse-wire is also excellent for aerials, as it is easily bent/straightened, plus comes in a variety of thicknesses/diameters....

Re: e-bay and/or paypal problems/issues
just refused to bid on a model I would like, because its down as a private listing=bidders identities withheld,,,
whats the score with these listings? who hides the bidders identities? is it the seller or the bidders? and am I right in thinking its something devious going on probably?

Don't know why people bother Billy. I think it's people who have there feedback as private. It also goes private bidders when they list as well.
There just covering up there shite services.
