Paying by Paypal

Was just wondering is there any rule when paying for a model on paypal that the buyer pays
via gift option so the buyer pays fee!! Or those the model seller take this fee into account when
pricing model so is on to a winner when buyer pays fee anyway??

I have always paid by gift option so pay fee but not always asked to do this by seller!!
Interested to hear what others do............

depends on what the seller wants, normally i pay as a gift.. if its through ebay, they get the fees automatically from selling on ebay and then from paypal,,

When I pay someone by Gift I don't pay any fees and when anyone pays me using Gift I still don't have to pay any fees,
I think if your Paypal account is linked to a credit card then you have to pay fees, if it's linked to your bank account then you dont pay any fees,

Is your paypal linked to a credit card or your bank account Tom,

Ah, that's why Paypal charge you a fee then,
If you change it to your debit card or bank account then you will have no fees to pay,

Any ideas how to change it??
Just on paypal and cant change it to a debit card. i use a laser debit card from my bank
but can only seem to use c card!!

I found out when paying on paypal.com i paid a fee to send by gift, yet on paypal.co.uk i didnt

Maybe the fee because my account in euro and paying someone in pound??

Paypal gift option is only fee free when you use the direct transfer option from a bank account.

If you use a credit card a fee is charged.

It does not matter what currency you use as this will not affect any fees charged.

I always thought paying or receiving as a gift meant no fees where charged to either party-that's why I ask for that option when selling stuff.

I always pay by gift when buying whether I'm asked to or not,except if it's an ebay purchase as you're not given the option then.

This means that I paid the charges on any model I ever bought from anyone. If you ASK the buyer to pay using the GIFT option then you are asking them to pay the fees as well as the asking price.

This of course, as stated earlier,only applies if you have a credit card linked to your paypal account rather than your bank account.

I'd rather pay the fees than give paypal free access to my bank account.
