I remember well.....but i had about 20 runs over that town stage as Spectator Info before Kris !!!!! Will somebody do a model of the Range Rover Sport that i used?????brian wrote:Kris drove the car on the town stage as a demonstration run. The car was run for the rest of the rally by Paul Fitzpatrick/David Smyth. The car will be made as it was on that demonstration run, including having Fitzpatricks/smyths name on the car. The livery was ever so slightly different as well. Dont have many pictures of Kris's run in the car, but i think this video says it all

Yep! The flag goes down or the lights go green and there's a crescendo of engine revs and scrabbling tyres! No? Cheers, Steve

Yep, I know that's what you were getting at, David! Thought I'd answer your question in a somewhat oblique way, as is my sense of humour.... or what I have in place of one, anyway!!
Thinking of senses of humour, I got my box from Kocaracing yesterday. Lovely Vanguards model of Culceth's Triumph 2000 rally car, a Rothmans 6R4 (all good so far) then a Vanguards Monte Carlo 1964 MGB rattling around in a battered Trofeu box without being screwed down to the base or with any packaging inside the box! The car's rattled through the post and knocked some of the driving lamps off and worn away part of the front registration plate.
Still, I have my sense of humour! Good job it wasn't an eBay purchase - my feedback may have been 'direct'! Hope your purchases faired better! Cheers, Steve

I'm aware of your sense of humour Steve - I have come across examples of it before! Sorry to hear of your latest packaging woes! It beggars belief how inadequately some people package their models. Touch wood that I continue to deal with effective packagers in the future!

Mmmmmmmm, now you come to mention it Brian!brian wrote:Cowley wrote:Completely and utterly incorrect Steve! The answer of course is #2!

Re: What to do with these? Kris Meeke 6r4 Rally Ireland Demonstration Run 2009
Yes David, you're right about packaging. Thankfully, I've only had a 2-3 of examples of bad packaging to date. Defies belief, really! It's not as if I'd paid way below the market rate (not that that's an excuse or reason), I'd paid good money for the models.
I know that the postal service don't have kid gloves on all the time (at all?) and occasionally models break off the display base and bounce around in the box, but to place a model in an oversized box without doing anything to secure it is a) daft; b) mad; c) disrespectful; or d) all of the above!
Glad to say I've fixed most of the damage to the MGB and will make a new decal for the front number plate, then all should be OK!!
Still, on a more positive note, sounds like my Code343 decals may be waiting for me when I get home Cheers, Steve

Thankfully I didn't order anything from Kocaracing, Steve - they didn't have anything I wanted.
Best let Brian have his topic back now...

Re: What to do with these? Kris Meeke 6r4 Rally Ireland Demonstration Run 2009
Quick question about this project.
Whats the closest paint match for the splitter on the front, ive tried making a decal for it but cant get the colour shade right.
Also, anyone know the logo behind the hankook logo below. I think i remember drawing this for another project but cant find it now

Just a pure guess Brian......is it a decal for Ian Chamberland (i think thats his name) he looks after David Bogies 6r4????????brian wrote:Quick question about this project.

Thanks for the mention Gary.GMR..Models wrote:Brian colour you would be after is Humbrol matt 63..very close match if not identical..ref decal havent a clue..Davids yer man.
I must admit that I haven't tried Humbrol Matt 63, but I do have 154 in my collection, as well as Revell Matt 88 - both of which I have used before. It really is down to the individual modeller, and also what the front bib is like on the cars, as the original 1985 colour is different to modern day versions.
I'll have a look at Humbrol Matt 63 tomorrow, and let you know.
