Cheers Simon and Juha, I will let you both know when decals will be available. Wont be for a while im afraid as I need to change the template that I sent to red firecracker but its something I will do after I have completed the model.

David, I did sort out the colour to spray the Rutherford car. I cant remember which one of the Tamiya's it is and its in my model tool box at the moment but I think its a close as Im going to get. Ill take a look in the morning and let you know what the taimya spray I bought Smile As for the cutlery yes there was lol It actually proved quite a useful site, being able to compare the colours away from how they look on the top of the spray can as sometimes they are nothing like the colour that comes out.

I know my camera is crap, I do want to get a decent camera that allows me to get some decent close up pics of my models. I did a few years ago have a Fuji S7000 which was a fantastic camera for close ups. Might have to have a look on ebay at what they go for 2nd hand.

Cool Nicky - pleased you're all sorted on the colour and the decals now. Will you have to do much to the artwork files for them to be printed, ie did you do much wrong first time, or was Kelvin pretty happy with the files that you supplied to him? I'm just thinking of asking him to quote on some for me too.... Wink

You cannot beat a good quality camera Nicky - not only for models, but also for the Group B Rally in August, as you'll need one for that mate!

I put a request for advice about buying a digital SLR on the British Rally Forum in 2008. a few of the 'togs' came back with some very sound advice, and then another came on saying she had just upgraded and had her old Nikon D50 for sale. It had only taken about 8000 photos and was a bargain I couldn't really turn down - £250 and it included the body, two lenses, spare battery, charger, memory cards, tripod, bag, card reader, etc - it's still going strong now, and was definitely worth the investment.

That's a bargain!

I paid just that for my Canon 30D in 2009, no extras included. And paid half of that amount for the repair bill last year when the mirror packed in and the shutter needed replacement. It looked very second hand by then, I used it well and it can take some beating. Laughing

And the best thing about it was, even though we made contact via the British Rally Forum and the seller could literally have lived anywhere in the UK or maybe even Europe, they actually lived 5 minutes away from my house and I drive past their's everyday! Wink

The previous camera went bust 5 days before Ypres and I was due to travel to the Polish WRC round a week later.

I found the 30D... from a guy who lived 10 minutes away from Ypres, picked it up and went straight to the rally. Laughing

Havent had chance to put primer on the model yet mate im afraid Sad the weather has been so crap this last week. The weather forcast for tomorrow is looking good so hopefully will be able to get some shells primerd up tomorrow. Whilst the weather has been so bad, I have been buying different sized tubing for the exhausts and other bits I am planning on doing. I am also 90% finished with completing the Per Eklund Camel/Clarion rallycross metro aswell Smile

Nice one Nicky, and I know exactly what you mean about the weather! Shocked The forecast is certainly a little drier for the weekend, so fingers crossed we both have some progress to show each other next week! Wink

Any comments, positive or negative are welcome Smile

Cheers for all the replies it means alot and all the work that goes into them all worth while Very Happy

I am already on my next model. Infact just painted the front splitter on it and just got to fit some more decals and also make a new set of front windows as it is a clubman car that had a plain window instead of the perspex with the little slider in. I will start a new topic for that in abit.

As for the decals for this model, I will get them done very soon. I hope to have them ready for sale by this time next month. As usual I will let you guys know as soon as they are available Smile
