TROA 40 years a going

The Irish Tarmac Championship celebrates its 40th anniversary this year. Their annual bunfight is scheduled for The Gleneagle Hotel, Killarney on 20 October and invites have been issued to all the former winners . From what we can see all but 3 drivers (Bertie,Mark and Frank)are still alive and 2 navigators (Roger and Peter Diekman).

I have (foolishly?) offered to restage an updated display we had back when the West Cork Rally first joined the Championship. At that time I know the Boyle Subaru was missing. So I am putting this up to see what "the usual suspects" have in their collections that they would be willing to loan for an evening should a display go ahead.

Great picture in this months Pacenotes rally magazine of 23 ITC winners. Doesnt mention whos models they are but its great too see models in such a popular magazine.
Have some of the original pacenote magazines (newspaper back then) that had adverts for KMD and other model makers. Must dig them out

As some on here will know Xav was and probably still is an avid model collector and builder. Xav is now the Editor of Pacenotes. As I said above I made the offer and as I am an invited guest its not my gig and I will do no more than make the offer. As anyone who has put on a display will know that no matter how small it is its a time consuming business. So I am relieved that the offer was not responded to.

Maybe I could start a go fund me for the flights lol! The joys of impending fatherhood means I'm likely to never purchase another model again

ah michael nice one, big changes ahead then!! but its possible m8 to find a few minutes for modelling around the needs of the wee one.......a few minutes per month that is!!
