Eifel Rallye Festival 2017

Really un-impressed not to be there again this year at one of the most important celebrations of the history of rallying set in and around the town of Daun in Germany. I'm sure James will be along in due course as he is there again in the Porsche however the entry looks superb and annoyingly the RS1700T looks like being a runner this year!

Have a gander at the entry especially the two Toyota IS cars, now those really are rare prototypes and something I'd never heard of before.

I've never heard of a Toyota IS rally prototype? Any other information available?

Only detail I have is what is on the site! Just open the link and the Celica and Corolla based cars are shown. Both belong to an ex TTE guy John Day who also has one of the MR2 Group S cars as well I believe.

Feeling very envious, James. Every year I see this I say to myself "I want to get there", so this morning plans are being hatched for a visit, hopefully, in 2018.
Now that you're getting the hang of the camera, we'll be expecting a blast of exotic machinery pics so we can practice our Homer Simpson drooling techniques

Thing I have found interesting about this years event is there is no sign of Walter Rohrl who is normally quoted as the patron. Hope he is well or is it a case of a fall out with the organisers?

The problem with James and his photos is that he looks at the oddball cars as there are so many professional photos available of the exotica. Hyundai are sponsoring the event this year so Rohrl and Geisdorfer are not about and Audi have a much lower profile as a result Crowds still big Same stages Fantastic weather Glorious machinery Really worth considering as a short holiday

As the event goes on cars go missing . If anyone is looking for pics of a particular car please post up here and I will do my best  I have WiFi at the hotel so results may take a little while  A number of cars on tow ropes las night. I towed in two with the hire car
