Just getting around to uploading a few pics from the show. From Donies awesome chevettes to Seans 1/18 Coleman Collection, and from the 'Live Stage' diorama to James stunning collection. So many class models on show.
Also great to meet up with some of the forum members again. Few more models are in the planning stages after some of the conversations over the weekend

Now those photos do justice to the incredible work done by Brian, Sean and Piotr as well as Carlo and those who supplied the photos in the first place. My photos were almost stocktake photos - just to catalogue what was there rather than highlighting the tremendous work put into the models by the aforementioned.
It looks like Circuit Deja Vu may well be back in Killarney next Easter - its a little premature but we are still working on completing the full compliment of almost 200 "older" Circuit of Ireland models.

I spent a lot of time and called in a lot of favours to get enough photos for Carlo to get the porsches done. So the decals can be bought from Carlo and then matched to high price base models !!! The two you cant get are the Powley silver car with the orange stripe and the red car belonging to Jack Tordoff that's hiding among the big bunch.

Will need to check but I think they came off the Mitsubishi Starion base - as someone else pointed out there is a set of 5 spoke Opel wheels on it as that was as close as we could get at the time. Starion bases are now like the proverbial hens teeth

Very well done to all concerned for putting on a fanstastic display.
Lots of time, lots of research, lots of money, lots of enthusiasm, all done because you want to do it.
Lets hope the show organisers and the paying public appreciated all of the above.
How are you going to beat this in 2017.....
Cheers
Chris

Re: 2016 Millstreet Vintage Club Model Toy an Diorama Show Oct 30th
Greetings fellow DRM members............I am back.....PC Fixed (i think)........I firstly want to thank Brian for posting the poster for the event....then secondly everybody for arriving and displaying their super quality, rare ,unique and once off models............i did not make the show....i just picked up the phone and asked people to display their models..........and they did that so, so willingly....... These are the people that MADE the SHOW..........and no hesitation it was a supurb show............i am biost but it was a GEM.
Then we were lucky enough to have Brian who arrived Saturday early and worked with us until after 2am Sunday morning turning his hand to help everybody that was present to unload and lay out their model displys..and he was back to the show hall at 6oclock Sunday morning......... WE had great help with everybody working in the same direction and with the same frame of mind.....putting on the show!!!!!!!
The photos on here are great....but you really did kneed to be there to appreciate the quality of the displays.......of course there were displays of Tractors, Trucks, as well as diaramas of Farm yards,,, Farms , Transport Warehouses.....etc. etc. etc.....but the diaramas that really would be of interest to DRM members are a Rally Special Stage....(we will see that one again I KNOW)......and Sean Buckley produced a replica of Colemans Garage Millstreet from the 1980s all from one photograph ......complete with a selection of Billys Rally Cars parked outside plus one inside with the lights on as if they were working........also present was the most breathtaking display of Circuit of Ireland cars by James oBrien (JOB)..........it was Wall to Wall...and amasing....with a supurb backdrop......also a display of A1 Grand Prix memrobilia including a 1/8 scale car ( 1 of only 6 ever made , and its an Amalgam Fine Art Models )......from A1 Team Ireland and Adam Carrolls suit and shoes etc etc etc.....Remote control diggers, trucks dumpers all working moving a 1/4 Ton of Moss Peat........i will go back to the photographs to pass comment on them......again thank you to all that helped.......it a disaster to name people as its so easy to forget some ......just thinking back....Niall oDriscoll.....Missed you this year TED Creedon .....Piotr from Poland ....Sales by JFE........Brians 1/18 were unbelievable........................more later

2 beauties here and very very rare !!!!!!!!!!brian wrote:Just getting around to uploading a few pics from the show. From Donies awesome chevettes to Seans 1/18 Coleman Collection, and from the 'Live Stage' diorama to James stunning collection. So many class models on show.

This Circuit of Ireland display by James is supurb......see the selection of doorplates and photographs in the backdrop are also outstanding
This photo is from a Rally Special Stage Diarama........this is a brilliant piece of work.....it shows the startline of the stage complete with Start officials, spectators,Ambulance, recovery truck.....all the services..spectators cars parked off the road ...etc , etc
Colemans Garage is the art work of DRM member Sean Buckley and is a magnificent piece of work...all completed from 1 or 2 photos.....
2 georgous 911s from JOBs CoI models....
Here we have another selection of CoI models by JOB.....
Here is a selection of Andrews Heat for Hire cars and Service Vans from the CoI display....complemented with OLD photos from the Circuit of Ireland.......some dating back so far that this rally had not been called the Circuit of Ireland....
***********************************Perhaps NOW is a good time to write in Easter weekend in your 2017 diarys as we believe the Circuit DeJa Voo will return to Killarney for the second year................and it a calculated guess that James will have all the Circuit of Ireland Models on display and some moe added to the collection by then. ************************

Neo do the Granda Estate but not in white-see eBay. The 79 Coleman Escort is probably the converted Trofeu 1023 3rd RAC Rally 76 Waldegaard. Is the show on again this year?

Anyone know how easy the Neo models are to strip and repaint?

They are resin so not easy! Air eraser, soda blasting or panel beaters fine grade sanding mat.

I supplied some photos to Valerio and so the Granada has just been added to the Arena product list. Likewise the Bedford CF is also available from Arena.

Nice, but the mirrors look too big on the Granada. The bonnet stripes on the Rothmans version are too narrow.
