Re: Old Group B film
Cracking footage of the Rover Vitesse, but it was actually Marc Duez that was entered on home soil on the 1985 24 Heures d'Ypres, Chris.
Many thanks for sharing though mate!

Good links, thanks. Cigarettes sponsorship IMO was a wonderful thing in rallying, it gave us some great liveries and funded so many drivers way back, nothing ever really replaced it

Arrgghh yes I was hoping you would spot my deliberate error!!!
Still be it Duez or Pond the Rover was a big car to throw around those sort of stages and sounded brilliant.

Re: Old Group B film
Indeed it was Chris - a seemingly less suitable rally car you would be hard puished to find, and yet with the driving style of Messrs Pond & Duez, Austin Rover had a very chuckable, tail out, rumbling and always a potential Group A winner on tarmac as well as gravel. You just have to watch Duez 'dancing' it around Belgium lanes on the clip you posted, or Pond in the fog on the 1984 Manx, or thoroughout the 1985 BRC to prove the fact.
