Re: 2014 Rallye Monte Carlo
Been a mad rally weather wise, and the pressure Meeke must have been under was massive, so a result like this is outstanding. Hopefully between himself and Evans they will bring rallying back to mainstream TV. Hopefully a good year ahead for the WRC, it looks like Red Bull are beginning to work their magic, the live stages were great to watch.

Re: 2014 Rallye Monte Carlo
meeke.....
The 34-year-old Meeke was the first Briton to claim a top-three spot since the late Colin McRae in Monte Carlo in 2003.
"I've never seen anything like this," Meeke was quoted as saying on the championship's official website (www.wrc.com).
"I'm delighted to be here on my first event with the Citroen factory team. Thanks to (team principal) Yves Matton for his faith in me."

Re: 2014 Rallye Monte Carlo
That was an old-fashioned Monte, with great drives from the brits. I think i'm not mistaken when i say that Mekke will probably be the best Citroen in the end of the championship.

Re: 2014 Rallye Monte Carlo
just wanted to air my disgust at the lack of mentions given to meeke and evans on bbc....even on the 'dedicated' news/sport 5-live, not a word about the two brits! of course we are updated every 5 mins on the successful english cricket teams exploits down under, and even more on their ladies cricket team!! what a narrow, niche sport that is compared to world rally, but still the bbc don't see fit to mention two great drives from home guys..........a disgrace inho!!!

Re: 2014 Rallye Monte Carlo
maybe if they emulated the cricket team's "success" they would get more airtime

Just home from the Monte. Picked a good one to go to. Interesting rally and a super result for all the Irish competitors.

Re: 2014 Rallye Monte Carlo
Just watched the video of the Kubica crash, looks like he got caught on some ice. Car really was not going quick enough to go off normally.

First 2 days in Gap were not bad. I travelled with Pauls dad so we were able to get a stage in the morning then get back to service and do the same in the afternoon. Hire car was under pressure to do that but were would only stay for the top 20. We went straight up to the Col de Turini on Saturday just for the first run and then back for the finish. Long walk and the snow was very heavy. The rain in Monaco was brutal - non stop.
