Meeke fastest in shakedown and Evans quickest in WRC2 also beating Camilli in the M Sport WRC car into the bargain!

Going on the vids on YT looks like it could be snowy this year. Had hoped to be there this year as my birthday falls on the last day of the rally but maybe next year!

Still in stage 1 but already Meeke looks like the only man who will get close to Ogier this year. Shane he cant do a full season.

Meeke absolutley monstered SS2! 11 seconds quicker than Ogier.

Kris has a lead of 7 seconds over night, would be outstanding if he can keep the pressure on Oigier and see what the result is. Got a funny feeling it will be a case of which man cracks first, let's hope it won't be Kris!

It's amazing after only 2 stages he has pulled 20 seconds from Mikkelsen in 3rd, surely a lot of the drivers must have been conservative tonight in the dark?

Kris lost a second to Ogier on SS3 but lots of ice. Kubica off and Paddon knocked the nearside rear wheel badly

Meeke in 2nd but only by 1.5 secs at the midday point. Evans has made back the minute he lost very early in the rally on SS1 to comfortably lead WRC2. Go boys!

Ogier in front after big push at end of first full day but by just over 9 seconds from Kris. Saturday will hopefully be very interesting!!!

I really feel sorry for Meeke. I would say (given he is clearly not in the best car) that this was one of his very best drives in the WRC and I think he would have beaten Ogier in the same machinery. He was unlucky to hit something on a cut that destroyed his gear box. He's improving with each rally and that is a positive sign for the future.

Also well done the boy Evans - clearly too good for WRC2, but not quite at the peak of WRC.
