1966 Monte Carlo Rally Fiasco

With the Monte Carlo Rally starting in the next few days I just spotted this article that might interest you.

This was back in 1966 when a Mini won the MCR for the third consecutive time.

The French and the ACM were not impressed and tried to find any excuse to disqualify them.

In disqualifying the Minis, Roger Clark's Cortina and Rosemary Smith's Imp from the overall results lo and behold a Citroen won!!!!

It caused world wide condemnation, but a year later Mini was back and won!!
