Re: Roy White MGS2000
Hi James,
Thanks for the update. Shame the models aren't quite right yet, but it will be worth the wait to have the models just right. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying I don't mind waiting to have the model right later on than have it sooner but not quite perfect. It's been quite an expensive month for models for me so I'm not too concerned. Cheers, Steve

Mark, can you spill the beans? I'd be very insterested to know what's under the bonnet and if there are many others still competing.
I'm going to Mallory Park next Sunday (22nd) and there's an MG ZR competing in that - there's also a ZS but that's running in the modified class with a meaty Mercedes V8 providing the power. Clearly, the MGS2000 is a very different beastie to the rally cross cars and several were sold after the factory closed and everything left was auctioned off. Hopefully soe of those are being used rather than left in a garage gathering dust.
Cheers, Steve

2.4 JRE Duratec in Roys car, but I was on the lookout for a car forsale if any available.
I have been asked not to say who its for but it would of been competing in Ireland if one was about

Interesting, thanks Mark. I was obviously way off the mark thinking the engine would have been an MGR unit of 2 litres capacity! Wrong on both fronts! Thanks for the info! Happy hunting, anyway.

Re: Roy White MGS2000
Just so that anyone who is still interested knows, I have priced them at what they cost me - I have not taken any margin. They cost €70 each plus postage. The problem is that there were decals missing so the postage was originally 25 euro from Hungary but with the second trip it became a second 25 euro from Hungary and a whopping 45 from Ireland back to Hungary. That is €80 plus postage to you. I understand if people are short in the current climate. I might ask Chris about his underbidders !!!!

Re: Roy White MGS2000
Underbidders, you can say that again James. I put it up for a price to break even. Anymore then it was a bonus. Over 40 watchers but just a few bidders. I was happy with what i got for it and it also released some money for other models.
If you are one of the lucky one's then these are very nice models.

Re: Roy White MGS2000
Hi James,
Great news, so glad the models are ready and waiting and up to the standards demanded of your critical eye . Can you PM me with the price inc postage to sunny Surrey and I'll send you the cash via Paypal, which I presume is your preferred method?
I have to sort a slight issue with Paypal as I need to lift my limit, or somesuch nonsense, which shouldn't take long, I'd hope.
If mine can be signed by Roy, I'd be very grateful.
Many thanks again, Steve

Re: Roy White MGS2000
I have contacted most of the people on the list posted at the start of this thread to make arrangements to pay & collect the model. The timing of the original "expressions of interest" was a little unfortunate as they coincided with the (temporary) ending of the previous forum and the starting of this one. Two people I have lost contact details for are David Leavy and Colin Irvine. Can anyone help? If I cannot contact them then there may be 2 models available if anyone else is interested.

Re: Roy White MGS2000
I have been able to make contact with both now thanks to the help of forum members. There have been one or two dropped out but I am glad to say that they have been replaced by other forum members.

Re: Roy White MGS2000
I originally missed out on this model earlier this year when my father died, and now looks like I missed out on it AGAIN because I'm away on holiday!
Please keep me posted IF another one becomes available James!

Re: Roy White MGS2000
Just been to local post office. Delivery to Ireland (north and south) with a tracker is 7 euro and to GB and Europe is 9.60 euro. I am taking them all to Clare this weekend and getting Roy to sign the lot. Anyone who doesn't want the box signed can wash it off.

Re: Roy White MGS2000
Just about to head up the road to Ennis for the recce so I will be off the air so to speak for a day or two. I am still waiting for replies from three people from the list at the start of the thread - all have been sent PM's. I just want to know where I stand. I have two on a reserve list - GMR is no 1 and Mr Simms is number 2 on the list. Experience albeit limited has thought me that peoples circumstances change and i have no problem with that.
I still have 2 of the first run from the Ravens Rock which were never taken up if anyone is interested. I am taking them with me to Clare so they may or may not be still available when I come back on here.

Re: Roy White MGS2000
Back from Clare. Some stupid little pulley on the engine failed (again) which shut down the engine so no damage done but another case of what might have been.
With the early bath, was an opportunity to call to the model show in Limerick on the way home. Mainly populated with the usual agricultural/trucking/machinery models. Some rally models and one rally diorama which was being dismantled as I arrived. There was however one other display of pure rally cars and I hope that I have recruited the owner as a new forum member for here. He did buy one of the two Ravens Rock MgS2000's that was left.
One of those on the list at the start of this thread has opted for the other Ravens Rock MG which means Gary is off the reserves list. That means both runs are now sold out. Everyone else has confirmed but if anyone gets second thoughts please let me know as Alan is next in line.
Thanks
James

After myself I assume James, as I was 2nd reserve after Gary? Or do you mean Alan is now 2nd reserve after me?JOB wrote:Back from Clare. Some stupid little pulley on the engine failed (again) which shut down the engine so no damage done but another case of what might have been.
