The White Album

Not the excellent Beatles album but had a wee idea, if anyone's interested.

There was some pictures posted of various models in a white, un-decalled, virginal condition. These were either bought 'as is' or in between being stripped and decals being applied. A lot of them were sweet (the Metro comes to mind) so I thought that some of you might be interested in posting some of yours here. Some of you might not want to give away the projects you're working on so you can take a pic of it and not show it until you're finished. Not only white, but I'm sure there's a lot of models look sweet in any colour.

That's a cracking idea Ted, and well done for coming up with an original topic!

Here's a white 6R4 - surprise surprise for me! - that I stripped before every Tom, Dick & Harry bought any of the latest plain white body versions from Rallying4Belgium or Rally Models! It started out life originally as an IXO 'Clarion' 1986 1000 Lakes model, but I have plans for it so I might just have to delete this post in a couple of weeks time lol!





And here's another white 6R4 - again, surprise surprise for me! - that I built from a Starter resin kit quite a few years ago. Additional detail in the shape of mud flaps, white metal wheels from a Meri kit, bonnet pins, aerial, bullet mirrors, lamp pod brackets, etc... has also been added by myself!









It even has a high level header tank fitted that I made from plastic card and rod....

Looks great

Admittedly in various stages of builds, and a different colour plain one to finish off

Some crackers there Ryan, especially the Mk2, Quattro, Impreza, and the Metro of course.

Can you tell us what your plans are for the LHD Metro yet, or is it top secret?

Good stuff lads. That Starter Metro is a nice one to have, David. And as for that Quattro, Ryan - it really looks the berries . The McRae Escort too - I remember getting that one and having second thoughts about putting the decals on.

Thank you Ted - took a lot of effort to get it like that I can tell you.

But it does remind me what my build quality was like about 10 years ago lol!

I can play this game, love plain whites, havent got enough mind you

Actually, thinking about Ted's opening post a little further, and specifically the 'any colour' comment - I reckon my Satin Black tarmac-hugging track day / occasional road car MG Metro 6R4 - aka 'The Beast' - should also be included.....

Have to agree - that Fiat is sweet.

Is the black Metro based on an actual road car or is it wishful thinking?

It is an actual road car Ted.

It is actually a road car in the back of my head that would see the light of day if I ever actually won anything substantial on the £$%&@$% National Lottery!
