COWLEY'S BACK, with a SCOOP!...
As EXCLUSIVELY FEATURED on my Austin Rover Motorsport Facebook group page @ 7.43am this morning...
This is the VERY FIRST SIGHTING of the long-awaited NEW IXO Models (RAC182) - the Harri Toivonen / Neil Wilson #20 MG Metro 6R4 from the 1986 Lombard RAC Rally, Reg No C96 KOG - AVAILABLE THIS MONTH (allegedly!). Previously all we have seen is a poor quality photo of the RARE Code 3 version produced by P&J Models - which is nice to have if you've got one! - so it is refreshing to see IXO's actual model for a change...

Indeed so Billy - Hiya by the way! - as this model should fairly easily morph into a very very useful plain white left hand drive base model with tarmac rims!
Oh the joys...

As I've already got the RARE & HIGHLY SOUGHT AFTER Code 3 version by PJ in the collection, I might just replace the tarmac rims on the IXO model, with some gravel rims to make an alternative addition.

Re: COWLEY'S BACK, with a SCOOP!...
I did actually sell my PJ version around Christmas time, but as it was to a fellow forum member I felt guilty (knowing that the IXO version was imminent), so I told him that it was on it's way, and gave him a full refund.
See, there are some decent people still left in this world!

Indeed it is correct Mark. However, the complete side intake should really be white, but I guess they've had difficulty printing the item all the way around the back of the vent so have had to leave that white. It's white on PJ's version too - although painted white not tremendously well!Mark Lowe wrote:Is the white on the side window vents right? without looking at the proper car pic
The 1/1th scale car in 1986...
My PJ Code 3 version...
Re: COWLEY'S BACK, with a SCOOP!...

Not sure if the Unipart logos on the side are identical?Cazzo wrote:Would this model be handy to convert to the COI car?
Re: COWLEY'S BACK, with a SCOOP!...
Quite right Juha - the Unipart side graphics are indeed different on the 1986 CoI entry, and it was still RHD for that event as well.
The CoI car was his 1986 BRC entry (Reg No C997 LCA) prepared and run by R-E-D, but his RAC Rally entry was an Austin Rover Motorsport, Cowley prepared entry (Reg No C96 KOG) - as I'm sure you knew.
Here's Dave's PJ Code 3 version of the CoI car - hope you don't mind me reposting this here mate?... It looks like PJ has incorrectly based his on a LHD base model!

Something to do with my RHD white stock.
Still have to work out how many LHD's I need.

Buy them before they become rare!
Or maybe's it's people like me making sure they become hard to find.

Re: COWLEY'S BACK, with a SCOOP!...
That latter point of yours is possibly more accurate under the circumstances, Juha.
