Hartge BMW E30 Group A, 1988 Rally Deutschland, 1/18
Hi Guys;
been a while I have started this project...
in the very beginning while building up my Bastos M3, I also fancied to have a Fina version. and started to collect the model and the bits for the new Fina project.
but then as you all know Otto informed that they will be releasing this beauty. therefore, I decided to give up on Fina.
but have the model and bits ready for a second Group A E30....
while hunting on ebay, I found a decal set of 1/18 Hartge rally car. and bought it to build up my second groupA.
but then somehow I couldn't make up my mind using the Hartge decals since I dont have the correct wheels and more over I really like Uli Nowak Compomotive's in this car as below...
and these were the OZ wheels (gravel ones smaller tho..) I tried on the car. but as mentioned they are gravel ones I have in hand therefore a bit small size...
anyway, your suggestions will be highly appreciated for this on going project
the donor is from AA in 1/18 scale
as usual first prime coated the model..
then painted in white
after a quick mock up started to build the interior
first started with the floor pan.
had to cut some parts of the cage in order to have the correct design/look as prodrive used to have...
after the interior adjustments, I applied the primer
and start to prepare the resin copy bucket seats.
there were some flaws I have to go over and fill them..
then I painted them into matt black and finally applied the carbon fiber at the back of the seats
by the way, I also cut and reshape the wing mirrors
started to put the interior back with some small details added such as the PE seat belts..
oil lines inside the car
assembled the dashboard
so far the interior...
and the exterior of the car with her new shoes from Uli Nowak in 16'
so far this is the progress in this project.
let me know your suggestions and comments guys
I still fancy a Fina.....

didcos, the differences are not so much, the wing mirrors and the rear spoiler. besides all pretty same if I am not mistaken.

Re: Hartge BMW E30 Group A, 1988 Rally Deutschland, 1/18
happy sunday guys!
it's been for a long while this project was on the bench waiting for me to decide what livery to go with it. I bought the decals on ebay and after careful checking I found out that some of them are not correct size or had some alignment problems.
finally, I decided to go with the Hartge decals since I have so many projects waiting on the bench and they started to bother me the way they are sitting.
so, during the last week I started applying the decals and friday I gave it a clear coat. and this morning I started to assemble the model....
after 6 hours of work here below is the end result
1988 ADAC Rally Deutschland #1
BMW E30, Group A by Hartge
Erwin Weber & Matthias Feltz
the crew started the rally at first place unfortunately, later at the stages they had an accident and retired from the rally
results of the rally;
http://www.ewrc-results.com/final.php?e=2861
and here comes some WIP photos...
some interior shots
and here she is....
I dont have the OZ Wheels in hand at the moment, so I used the 16' Uli Nowak, Speedline wheels...
may change the wheels at a later time...
and the final photo is the group shot of my current E30 rally cars... I guess some more to join in the future
hope you guys like my new baby

Awesome work again Omer
Love the detail changes you had to make to the touring car in making it a rally car,
The more models I see you build the more I'm starting to think you work for Kyosho!!

As always Omer. Superb work. You really bring the model to life.
So when are you going to tackle an irish model and then sell it to me?
