Excellent,Walter Rohrl, Philippe Wambergue, Armin Schwarz, Harald Demuth, John Davenport, Reinhard Klein,Hans Schuller,John Wheeler and Beatty Crawford. Crowds were huge. Many of the little villages we passed through seem to be out waving and having their own parties. The thunder, lightning and thunder rain was something else. Friday was like a sauna in the car - the heat was incredible. All in all an excellent few days. There were a number of guys selling models and books on the rally mile - books were the wrong language in the main and the internet has us spoiled as regards models. The stars were all most approachable. We got Walter Rohrl and Bjorn Waldegaard to sign the roof of the Porsche from the inside at the airfield and nothing was a problem for them. All competitors got a lovely keepsake of a 1/43 Safari Peugeot 205T16 on a plinth. Mine is still in the jeep on its way home. I will send you a photo and you can post it up here. We called to Spa Francochamps on the way there and to the Nurburgring on the way home. I may be looking for a few plain white 3 litre Porsches with the cooler in the big rear wing to get a model made !!! Very Happy

Interesting aside is that rally programmes incl. maps are on sale in Germany now for WRC Rally Germany almost a month before the event.

If you are then please let me know as I have all the photos and we had intended getting a few done just for ourselves. Its amazing how many different versions of the 911 there are. We saw a racing 911 from Minichamps in a twin set at the Nurburgring which was correct. The cooler is in the big whaletail and the front bumper is not the most aggressive. I have a spare spark but the wheel arches are not correct.

Many Thanks Paul for posting up the photo for me. Its a better effort on my part than the MG photos Embarassed

Its the finishers momento all competitors got when going over the ramp at the rally finish along with a copy of the group photo from the airfield. Its 1/43 and very different. Reminds me a little of the trophy I got at the Rally of the Lakes one year -a mounted Celica 185 going over a bridge in Pewter -a kind of diorama if you will.
