Re: 1/43 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
The wipers that IXO use on their 6R4s must also be used on another model within their range.
If we could find out which LHD car uses the same wipers, then we could buy the cheaper Altaya versions of the model (if available?), replace the wipers with RHD wipers, and then list the 'adjusted' models on ebay none the wiser! I doubt the majority of bidders would notice the wiper change!

So you missed the one Flavio had for €45 then?Juha wrote:My problem is I need more LHD wipers. I don't have enough Clarion models to go round.
Anyone know where I can buy some?

Erm... maybe... erm... FFS!!!!!!!!
Nah, it was sold before I got to it.
Re: 1/43 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
Well, it was still on his list till I emailed him about it last Thursday!
Re: 1/43 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
I must have seen it, but the cost of the other models was a bit too high.
Re: 1/43 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
When I saw it was still there after he eventually replied to my email on Sunday, I snapped it up - @ €45 it was too good to leave for someone else!
In another deal this week, I also picked up another four 'top shelf' IXO 6R4 models as well. I already had plans for all of them, so they were very much bought for a specific purpose.
By 'top shelf' I mean models that are the most sought after amongst the IXO range, ie ones that make the best base models to use for other versions. Clarion LHD, Auriol Garrigues (with LHD dash if you can find one!), Pond Manx, McRae RAC, Wilson Sanremo, Duez Ypres, and Andy's/R4B's plain white model are all examples of models that I class as 'top shelf'!

Re: 1/43 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
I think I have 2 LHD Auriol, 4 Clarion, 3 Belga, 2 Monte Carlo, 3 85 RAC, 2 McRae, 2 San Remo, 15 plain white, and 1 spare LHD shell + dash.
The Manx car is the only one of which I don't have a spare.

Re: 1/43 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
I have had all of those, and in similar numbers as well - except for the plain whites! - but they just never stay like that for too long!
Re: 1/43 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
Juha,
You may be left with the only option I have open to me, that is to adjust the windscreen wipers and drill holes in the body so they are the LHD format, and to take the instrument binnacle off with a sharp cutting disc, stick it on the other side of the dash and make good & paint.
It's a bit of a faff, but I made most of those alterations when I made Rob Gibson's model for him. Had some fairly radical changes to make to the dash in his car plus the single wiper was the LHD format. Worked out VERY well with time and patience.
If you turn the 6R4 body upside down, you can see where the wiper holes would be for the LHD layout.
Cheers, Steve

Thanks Dave, and I must say it feels quite sweet being 'up there' with all of those famous 6R4 model & decal makers!

Re: 1/43 MG Metro 6R4 definitive list
Sorry mate, I must have missed this post!Zeus wrote:How many are due in 2013?
Well, this is hopefully what I reckon we'll see this year...
Brian's... Kris Meeke 2007 WRC Rally Ireland demonstration
IXO's... Harri Toivonen 1986 RAC Rally entry - possible wishful thinking though!
IXO's... Tony Teesdale 1986 RAC Rally entry - ditto!
CODE343's... Alistair Sutherland 1986 Granite City Rally entry
CODE343's... Tony Pond 1991 Lurgan Park Rally entry
CODE343's others to be advised!
Mark said he's got some plans, but he's keeping them close to his chest!
Carlo and Vitor will also have some new decal releases I am sure!
I think that's about it at the moment, unless I've missed any obvious ones?

Cheers buddy!Zeus wrote:Updated again with the Code343-004
By the way, the gaps of 001 & 003 will be filled with the Sutherland & Pond cars during the course of the year. What's 005? Aha, it might not even be a Metro!
