Just sent you a test PM to see what it does. Worked totally as normal for me and there were no issues.
The cursor went where i wanted it to go and nothing else moved or jumped about the page.
I hope you get it sorted m8.

update lads..
problem seems to have disappeared form wifeys laptop, but still persisting on my own dell desktop, i'll check works one tonight.... i have de-selected the 'always enable smilies' from my profile, no change..currently running google (not chrome) adobe 7 iirc  windows xp home...................etc.etc....

problem persisting on my works computer lads, pm page goes on forever, can't get down to the 'send' function key.................i'm really confused!

Billy see the big white box you type the PM in, or even in replying to this thread,
Have a look at the bottom right hand corner, there should be a symbol and if you move the cursor over it then it will change to double arrows,
Click and hold so the box goes grey then move the double arrow cursor up and to the left, 
This will make the box smaller bringing the Preview/send function key up,
You may have moved it before with out knowing or if there was photos in a PM the box would have been bigger,

hi col, can't do that in the pm box because the page continuously moves when i scroll down to the bottom...........i cant get to select the arrows.....
its not a prob in normal posts m8, just pm's....

right col, after spending twenty minutes trying to 'catch' the wee arrows as they flew down the screen, i finally got them........this allowed me to reduce the message box as you said, but when i come out of pm's, then go back in, the box is back to being huge again and i cant get to the send icon............:x

no change today lads.............soI've re-enabled smilies   any ideas?

Billy, sorry to hear your still having problems mate. I have been looking into it and they forum hosters have done some updates which are causing problems for other forums too. I apologies for the inconvenience it is causing Billy, and anyone else problems at the moment. I will keep checking forumotion and seeing what other people suggest trying to sort the problems.

If anyone that is experiencing problems at the moment could try this step by step guide and see if that helps (Some forums have tried this and it has been fine after). If people can let me know if it works or not and I will try my best and see what else I can suggest.

hi nicky, listen m8, no need for you ever to apologise, i'm sure i speak on behalf of the whole forum when i say we greatly appreciate the commitment you put into the thing in money, time and effort..so its no sweat m8 honest.... some might say its a blessing to the members that my pm's are curtailed at the moment lol!!

anyway, i'll get a go at that procedure m8, glad to hear others are having similar issues and its not just me!
also have to say i think the new smilies are related as i'm having probs with them too...sometimes the typeface occurs instead of the converted 'cartoon' image, and also when i type a smilie then go to continue typing text, the cursor refuse to go past the smilie, it insists in keeping it at the very end of my completed message...like this one which i typed about 4 lines up lol!!

ok guys, using work computer, logged in using firefox and everything good!! will download firefox to my own tomorrow afternoon and see if that sorts me....
will let you's know how it goes...thanks again for all help so far.....

i have downloaded and begun using firefox as my browser, it seems to have cured the problem...........my pm box is back to normal size, so watch out you'll all be getting pm's now lol.!!

just a wee one lads (?) for the past week or so when i select a smilie following some text the cursor automatically inserts it at the very top of the text....i have to delete it and reselect the cursor position at the end of the last word.............no biggie as i said, just wondered if anyone else having this prob?

Yeah mine used to be exactly the same Billy, but maybe that was on my Apple Mac at work, as my PC at home seems to be perfectly fine now. I'll have to check my Mac and get back to you.

Sorry Bob, but my smilies are available on both desktop systems I use, but not on my Android mobile phone for some reason?

david, thanks m8, just if its handy though, don't go to ant great trouble.... 

No probs here. The only thing i have noticed is if you don't put a space between them they show up in text form. If you catch my drift!

Yeah I've noticed that as well Chris, ;)especially if there's no space after the smilie like half way through this sentence.

But if you put a space after it, like this  it works perfectly.

ok, so i cant see any pics on any of todays new threads,,,,older ones are fine............
