Indeed!
So assuming you also ordered TWO, then there's only another 1996 out there somewhere lol!
I wonder who will be first on this forum to receive theirs? It won't be me because I paid for mine a week or two after you did Billy.

ah we'll see david, i have to 'fess up here m8, i only ordered one!!!
i know its the done thing to order two and sell one, but i was a bit tight when i ordered it, having splashed out on several models, so i chickened out...........i have ordered two m3 beemers though from Wedge, not sure how that'l work out, i haven't ever bought from them before....

1997 out there then lol!
Not too sure what to do with the second one yet mate, but has anybody ever stripped or repainted an Otto model before? I gather there's a few different issues than being diecast as they're made from resin aren't they?
Still excited though!

m8 i wouldnt want to attempt it, as its resin; although i think i read somewhere that hob-cleaner can be used safely on plastics, though i'm not sure if i would risk it myself.... the quality is excellent david anyway, and they must insert something quite heavy as my too ottos both weigh more than a diecast autoart!

Mmmmmm, in that case Billy then I think I'll leave it well alone then. The thought of using hob cleaner on it doesn't really fill me with any confidence to be honest.bmd wrote:m8 i wouldnt want to attempt it, as its resin; although i think i read somewhere that hob-cleaner can be used safely on plastics, though i'm not sure if i would risk it myself.... the quality is excellent david anyway, and they must insert something quite heavy as my too ottos both weigh more than a diecast autoart!
I'll simply mothball it I reckon, and then decide what to do with it at a later date.

David,
When the Otto Sunbeam came out Rory stripped one, I'm not sure if it was just the decals or the whole model,
You could send him a PM and see what he knows about them,
I dont think it would be a big job to strip and paint one, just remove the decals and key up the original paint with 3M scotch brite and paint away,
You would have to use 2Pack paint with hardener, this way you wouldn't need to heat it, just let it air dry over night,

Many thanks for that advice Colin.
I will certainly drop Rory a PM in a few weeks time (because I think he's still quite busy at the moment), and see what he has to say on the subject. It does sound quite daunting though, so I might just 'bottle it', sell it on in 5 years time, and make my fortune that way lol!.
