Removing set of front lights from brookes manta
Good eve,
Would anybody be able to give some advice on how to remove the front lights and indicators on russell brookes ixo manta 1/18 scale

mate ive never done an IXO but have done several Revell versions... most are simply plastic dabbed, i use my dremel with small grinding attachment, from the inside.. simply grind off the inner dabs of plastic on the inside and the unit will come out from the outside... a drop of canopy glue replaces them with no colouration so glue is invisible.....

You cant push the headlights out from the back it seems. They need to be prized out from the front apparently, but I can see that damaging the unit

Thanks brian,
I got them out thankfully without any damage, I put a stanley blade where he hammerd in and flicked it out handy as hell

Your not able to push them out form the back as the chasis bolt up in behind rhe lights

No problem at all, no problems after that its a handy dismantle then.

Looking at the video it is clear the headlamp units and door handles have locating lugs so Id say the light units will push out from behind if you get a small enough pointed tool. I do this with 1/43 IXOs. Saves prising off and possibly damaging the parts.
