Absolutely incredible model. I have included a photo of the making of the model to give an idea of the extra work that went into it. A Big Cat Jag kit was used as a base. The car very briefly held the Irish Landspeed record. This is the lady that drove a Formula One Renault at the ripe old age of 79 .

As alluded to elsewhere my photographic skills are limited so I purloin/nick/lift/borrow photos from others. We did a series of I think it was 12 or maybe more of her Imps . Here are her cars from the Acropolis, The Tulip (which she won outright) and the Shell 400 rally in Canada. I have pictures of the others but they are my photos so I will give you all time to invest in looking glasses i

A lot of research went into getting the decals correct for the London Sydney Cortina.

Likewise I had to call on some very "big guns" to get the photos to do the Safari Datsun. Even getting the base model was a big deal.

Your Rosemary Smith Collection is superb James!

The Cortina ,in real life went on to have another life and Chris made a limited number of models of it. Donie and myself are proud custodians of two of those rare models. [url=https://servimg.com/view/17520720/614]

I put together a collection of her cars for Mondello . As some of you know my ambitions exceed the time others have to make the models I envisage so not all models were completed in time for the display in Mondello. I thought I was afforded a “second bite of the cherry “ when Rosemary invited me to display the collection at the launch of her book but at the last minute the arrangements were taken out of her hands and the venue and details changed. So the enlarged collection has never actually been on public display . If any of you feel the need to do a Rosemary Smith collection you will only find a handful of commercial diecasts - possibly 2- some decals from Carlo , which he did at my request and you are on your own after that . I was very fortunate to have an excellent team doing the difficult part - most of whom wish to remain anonymous
