AUTOart 2001 Monte Carlo Winner Lancer Wrong Registration Plate

Anyone else have this model or seen this?

I found an unusual mistake on my model. The rear registration plate is incorrect. S2 TMR was used on the 1999 works Lancers. So either someone at the AUTOart factory applied the wrong registration plate or someone swapped it out after they bought it (this seems unlikely to me though). Other photos of this model have the correct X6 MMR rear registration plate. For example:

Some collectors love things like that as they class them as rarities for me its just annoying! The 99 New Zealand car that Autoart modelled in 1:43 had the S2 TMR reg.

I'm with you on the annoying assessment. Likely just a slip up at the factory.

I have that same issue on my Vitesse Mäkinen 2003 GB. It seems like that all of them had the wrong license plate.

what scale is your model mate?

1/43 scale.
