Re: Calling all Metro Boys
The #94 ex-Armin Hahne 'Massa / Real' liveried German car is however in the wrong colour as it should be a much darker blue than the Computervision blue that it currently appears to be presented in...
However, when period driver Patrick Watts acquired this car from Volker Anhalt earlier this year, it had already been sprayed in the lighter blue, so maybe that change is part of Patrick's future plans, and the rush to get all three ready for Silverstone was a priority...

Re: Calling all Metro Boys
Sorry for going off topic (again!) guys, yes thank you Paul - it was an immense day mate!...
Full of emotions, tears, joy, laughter, and happiness, but as Father and Best Man, I had a dual role on the day, and my speech had to reflect that. No matter how many times I practiced it in front of a mirror before the day, I had no idea how it would tear me apart when delivered in context in front of my family! I was a tearful, wobbly-voiced, shaking, and emotional wreck, but it was worth every second.
Left to right are my brother, his wife, the bride, groom, my mother, my wife, and myself.

Re: Calling all Metro Boys
Hi David,
Very many congratulations on you son's wedding. Good to see you brush up well! Having been best man, I know how nerve racking and gut wrenching it must have been, bt to be father of the groom too adds that extra level of potential wobbliness. I have no doubt your audience understood and forgave your emotional state.
I think it says much about the relationship you have with your son that he asked you to fulfill the Best Man role. Well done that man!
Lovely shots of the Mighty Metros, by the way!! I'd love to have seen them close up - maybe I shall in the future.
Delighted to see Patrick Watts is responsible for the preservation of a racing Metro. I remember seeing him and Tony Pond racing at Brands Hatch in the early 80s. His car had 'One Killer Watt' written across the top of the rear screen. Hoping that NEO get their act together and release the mk1 MG Metro Turbo model.
Thanks again, David.
Cheers, Steve

Re: Calling all Metro Boys
Thank you, Steve. It was indeed an immensely emotional occasion, and the family and close friends present all seemed to join me and share my emaotions - which made it a little easier to be fair. Imagine if my speech only 'touched' myself, and it just washed over everyone else present as if it was nothing special - that would have been far worse.
I had a reply back from NEO to my question asking... "Do you have any plans to release any more MG Metro 1300s, or when the Turbo version might be available? What about any Group A motorsport versions of the Metro, ie either the 1983 Daily Express / Unipart car of Tony Pond or Patrick Watts, or the 1984 Computervision cars of Patrick Watts or Robin Brundle?"
Sadly, their reply was not what any of us 'Metrosexuals' wanted to hear!... "no we have no plans for any MG for the moment." ...although admittedly, that doesn't mean 'Never or ever'!

Cheers David,
Thanks for sharing the feedback. All is not lost, just not given a timetable! Doh!!
We'll have to be patient and keep hoping.
Thanks again, Steve
