AT LAST!... ...a 1/43 Plain White Metro 6R4 from IXO!

YES, you've guessed it!...

...IXO Models announced on their Facebook page earlier today that they will be releasing a 1/43 scale Plain White MG Metro 6R4 model at last, and after much barracking, campaigning and hassling on the part of the 6R4 diehards!

Here is what they had to say (Who cares what's next!), followed by the photo in question - which you will note is in RHD form, with the rarer tarmac Dymag wheels, and Clubman mirrors fitted as well!...

I am however hoping that this is an early hand-finished pre-production version, on closer inspection of the photo as...

~ The rear side window vents have been given a silver finish, and there is evidence of silver paint on the edge of the roof!
~ The lamp pod brackets are mounted incorrectly, and much lower than they have beforehand. They should be above the bumper vents!
~ The windscreen appears to have clamps at the base of it, and not along the top edge!

Here's hoping the final run will be a tad different from the teaser photo they uploaded earlier today.

This is probably a mock up but hopefully some of the detail, such as the clubman mirrors, will be carried through to the production version.

Time to break out the pile of unused decals!

Remember that the finish may be matt rather than gloss white if the other offerings in this range are anything to go by

Looks like they have made amends to the 208 rear spoiler as well which is nice

I can't understand why they've released the Metro with the option of what looks like black 5-spoke Revolutions though - as per the McRae 1986 RAC Rally 'Racing' model?

I mean, how many cars actually ran those wheels in that colour? I personally can't think of many, and in light of their forthcoming Duez 2004 Legend Boucles de Spa 'Belge' entry, maybe some white 5-spoke Compomotives might have been more appropriate.

Appreciate your frustration. Ixo are odd fish they miss obvious releases and then model quite obscure cars just look at the Fiat 131 that they announced at the same time as the Metro.

Fine by me. Can use the five spokes for other models

They could have at least given us black gravel Dymags, but let's not look a gift horse in the mouth (even though the 6R4's aren't given ).
