Ooooooh Dave, now you're talking! That would be the perfect specification!
Any chance? Cheers, Steve

Re: IXO plain white Metro 6R4
But surely you can decide what spec Steve?
I too would be interested in some, and even more so if they came in the spec that Dave mentioned!
As such, there isn't really anyway of sourcing either of these items cheaply if the model you're building requires them.

Both the Clubman mirrors and the tarmac 'wheelfan-less' wheels are impossible / hard to track down for a reasonable sum, so if the models did come in this spec then there might be a chance you would have more interest. At present, the mirrors are only available on the Ayrton Senna test car model (which can currently fetch £70-80), and the tarmac rims on the Didier Auriol '33 Export' or Per Eklund 'Clarion' models (which are either premium price IXO models, or only available via eBay from Europe).Zeus wrote:Could they do them with club mirrors & tarmac non fan wheels

Thanx Cowley for advising me
We will have a vote as I would be happy to them with clubman mirrors and fan type tarmac wheels is that correct

No problems Steve, but we're referring to the tarmac wheels without the wheelfans.
Re: IXO plain white Metro 6R4
I have emailed them to ask the question
Also which is better rhd or lhd?

Re: IXO plain white Metro 6R4
I'd have said RIGHT hand drive Steve, but see what t'others think.
Left hookers are still sought after, but I reckon 'normal' cars would be more popular all around.

Re: IXO plain white Metro 6R4
On the rhd v lhd issue, I can confirm that the changing of one to the other is relatively straight-forward, so is perhaps less crucial than the clubman mirror and non-fanned tarmac wheels questions.
Thinking about it, a clubman spec, plain white 6R4 with tarmac wheels and clubman mirrors would tick all the boxes of those 'hard to find' bits and pieces we 6r4 modellers need most. Throw in Clubman door cards as well with the right seats and the possibilities are much wider! I could need 2 or 3 more than I initially thought!!
Cheers, Steve

Re: IXO plain white Metro 6R4
I'd certainly buy a few. Clubman mirrors would be a bonus.
First time round I got 16 of them.

Some interesting posts on this now
I have emailed about the clubman mirrors and tarmac wheels
awaiting a reply
I think the doors cards and seats might be pushing my luck but I can try

Re: IXO plain white Metro 6R4
Thanks Steve,
I always think it's worth asking at times like this. After all, if you don't ask, you don't get!
OK, there are many times when you ask and you still don't get, but, it's worth a try!!
We'll await the response with much eagerness. Cheers, Steve

Re: IXO plain white Metro 6R4
The Clubman door cards & grey bucket seats are an easy fix Steve - the door cards could be created with a decal (as you did with your Metro VdP model if I recall correctly), and the bucket seats by simply painting the existing black ones grey! - job done.
I doubt that IXO would want to create new tooling for a 3D door card, or the correct shape seats anyway, but the Clubman mirrors and tarmac rims shouldn't be a problem to include them as they already exist in IXO's parts bin. These two elements are far more important to be included in these models, as they are a great deal tricker to source from elsewhere - as you know....

Re: IXO plain white Metro 6R4
Yes indeed, David, you're quite right.
If IXO can put together the cars using parts they already have (i.e. the mirrors and tarmac rims), we'd be in a much better chance of them being willing and able to custom build in suitable numbers, and crucially, at a sensible price too!
Yes, you're right about my Vanden Plas Metro and my door cards. I did make these myself using decals, but I appreciate that not everyone has the equipment, time or inclination to do the same.
Let's see what the good folk at IXO have to say......
And if you can send me a PM with the clubman air intake info, I'd be very grateful, David .
Cheers, Steve
