In the process of putting this together.  Looking for any details on a gold Mk1 Escort, black roof, big arches, Reg UPI 613, Demi Fitzgerald/ Dick O Brien that competed in the 70 CoI.  Need their seeding especially, as no. 58 is just for test purposes Crying or Very sad

Any help appreciated.

Thanks Donie.  It's only a mock up at the moment.
Tom's was similar - gold, but with no arches, reg VPI 237.  Have a b/w pic of that one and one I took myself in '70.  A gold model with arches is way easier to find that one without, hence Demi's one.

Happy New Year to ya.

My thanks also to Sean Buckley who's doing his best to help me with this. Much appreciated.

UPDATE;  Met Dick today and he thinks seeding was 178 - a bit of a drop from 33 the year before!  Good to know seeding problems aren't just a recent phenomenon.  He thinks he has some paperwork from back then in the 'upstairs room' and he's going to search it out for me. Very Happy

Yes driver talent rather than a top car got you places-look how well Coleman ran in his home made Escort against the works cars. My first rally to spectate was the 78 Circuit of Wicklow. Then Killarney in 1979 and back again for 1980. Brendan Fagan ran a cycle and motorbike shop near where I lived in Dublin and he gave me a load of Autosport magazine one day-that's how I became interested. I used to buy Motoring news on a Friday and read it during Irish class first thing after lunch as the teacher was a lazy git and would not teach us on the grounds that he had had a tough week and was tired. Did we care?? I was far more interested in reading about rallying than learning Irish.
