Circuit of Ireland 2016
With just over two weeks to go, the Circuit has published a fairly exciting entry list bringing the top ERC, BRC and Tarmac C/ship contenders together - when was the last time something like that happened here? Pick a winner from Breen or Cronin in Citroens, or the Fiestas of Evans, Kajetanowicz, Lukyanuk, Fisher, Ahlin. Throw in Bogie's Skoda, Cave's Fiesta and a trailer full of European hopefuls plus the Moffets, Max Vatanen, Euan Thorburn and we have a fairly damned good entry and one of the best seen here in a long, long time.
For me the big attraction is Craig Vs Keith in identical cars, hopefully both having a clean run and a great battle.
Bit of a gamble to pick the podium, but I'm going for three of these four - a Corkman, a Waterford man, a Pole and the Welsh fella .

Great entry although apart from the top two Euro guys its going to be a battle between either side of the Irish sea! Interesting that Thorburn is the only Pug mounted R5 driver in the type of car that won last year. Guess the weather will play a big part and road position may help if there's lots of mud to be dragged onto the road. My money would be on Breen as Evans may be limited by DMack rubber either way its going to be a mighty battle just jealous I cant be there to witness it!

Its an incredible entry, what are the tyre regulations for the different championships? I think I read somewhere about the ERC having control tyres? All things being equal it should be the best most competitive rally anywhere in a long long time.

Sounds awesome!
Im going for a tarmac titan from the irish contingent - think the welsh, scots and scandi's will be stronger on loose surfaces.
If this type of coming together doesn't reinvigorate interest in some of these series, nothing will.

Re: Circuit of Ireland 2016
It may be the toughest rally to predict a winner from in a long long time. Anyone from the top 10 could do it. Evans knows that car very well but hasnt done many events on Irish tarmac. Breen knows the event and Irish tarmac but not the R5 that he will be driving. Both Fisher and Cronin know their cars by now but just how close will they be to the top guys in ERC will be great to see.
Going to be an exciting event thats for sure. Anyone know if the ERC is still shown on television

Brian,
Eurosport cover the ERC, mainly a 30 minute daily highlight programme followed by a 30 minute review afterwards. The Canaries coverage in the last round was very good. Plus for over here there is the Channel 5 and BT Sport highlights programmes.
It looks a cracking event on paper, fingers crossed for a Welsh or Irish winner !.

Good news for those who can't make it or, worse, those who are working (like me )

Qualifying stage looks like being extra important with the weather being so changeable, guess those running higher up on the road will really benefit from less mud given the amount of rain over the last couple of days.

Evans quickest on qualifying stage by 4 seconds! Quite a few offs including Bogie who binned it on shakedown before QS so looks to be have been a bit of a waste of money.
