Re: coleman stratos
rory, in your 1st pic above, do you know what is the decal between the word 'flag' on the rear quarter-panel, and the henley forklifts on the boot? it seems to be lettering running down the panel from the rear window to the n/s rear boot spoiler corner...
second q m8, when you say full plate on the roof, i presume its identical in size and design to the door plates?
cheers rory

Re: coleman stratos
Northern telecom-I have a sticker from that era which I can scan and send on to you. I will be working on my own one again soon if you want to wait a bit longer for a decal sheet. Don't forget the rear arches are wider on the main body and then it has a road car rear section over the engine and rear wheels with no arch extensions.
Yes I believe it is a doorplate sized decal on the roof as well but it could also be a Henly Forklift Ireland Limited Logo similar to the one on Clarks bonnet: http://www.classicfordmag.co.uk/files/2012/12/CLF194.poster.1977_130_70_rgb.jpg

rory, that sounds like a plan, i'll set her aside and wait for your sheet to be done...trying now to work out these rear arches....not sure i fully understand the make-up of the rear section, am i right in thinking its a non-arched road design, but with after-market arches applied, instead of the wider fully-arched 'rally' design that came all as one? some of the pix seem to show quite a wide arch, would we not get awy with that, is the difference sizeable?
cheers

Re: coleman stratos
rory many thanks yet again for your pix and advice on this one...........tbh i have a few conversions unfinished sitting here and im considering changing this to the 79 ypres......simply because the arches are right and the decals i have seem not to be as inaccurate as the galway 77 ones.....it would get another one finished and into the cabinet lol!

Are you sure its 79?
The Stratos had a variation of narrow arches up 'till the Circuit 78 then had the wider black group 4 arches. In 1979 Billy was mostly driving the red and white Motorcraft Escort except for his one Stratos outing in the BP Esgair Rallysprint as far as I know.
...but open to correction!

He definitely did Ypres in the Stratos with Peter Scott in 1978 (He had David Richards in with him in the Stratos the year before)

Re: coleman stratos
All of the arena decals have some errors on the Flag Stratos as far as I can see.

juha absolutely brilliant m8, many thanks... i do believe i'm not far away with the 1978 version..need to tidy the rear arches and, apart from the wheels being debatable, i think she'll be there...
