Don't know if I'd have anything that would be different to what you already have planned for the displays
Re: Festival of Motorsport Iverk showgrounds Piltown Sunday 13th July
Just 10 days left to this event and its shaping up nicely. Lots of motorsport activity's announced on there facebook page in the last few days.
My stuff from the printer wont be here on time, but ill try get them done on my own printer so Ill still have some pre-production models on display as well as the ones ive already finished. I have several models in stripped and in plain white so may bring them along, plain white ones look very nice, or have several models in Rothmans colours so may display them instead

Just finished packing now
A Lady came around with a "Thank You" cert/parchment after you had left Brian so we got one for you.
Then another lady came around with sandwiches - she was either taking pity on us or else it may have saved her having to dump them- we thought it best not to keep your share of the sandwiches until we meet again
so Donie eat them
Craig Breen turned up after we had partially taken the displays apart- he is collecting away his own cars as is Paul Nagle. I had put together a little tribute to Jaffa so we were both sorry he missed that.
For those that were not there we had 5 exhibitors - a local lad with a huge collection of mainly rally cars, a youngfellow with a few fields of silage and enough farm equipment to fill a small trailer and then Brian, Donie and myself. Brian had his fantastic self builds, Donie stuck his nose inside the door of his Aladdins Cave at home and brought what seemed like hundreds of 1/43 Code 3's of Irish rally cars while I took the easy way out and showed the 1964 Monte 1/43's, a selection of other Irish Monte contestants down the years, the model T assembly line, a Skoda rally collection and a Toyota rally collection.
We were in a lovely bright airy shed but it did have two large open garage doors on one side that allowed a hell of a lot of dust in. Hence we will be getting dust out of all kinds of nooks and crannies etc etc for many's the long day. Donie and Brian went to the bother of taking their models out of their cases while , you guessed it, I couldn't be ar*ed. In reality I don't have the time to clean the dust off the models.
It is amazing what takes peoples fancy and there are many "secret" collectors out there.
All in all a good day and good to meet Brian and Michelle at long last.
Next one will probably be the Ford meeting in August in Ringaskiddy in aid of Cystic Fibrosis.
P.S Whenever photos are uploaded it will be interesting to see if the "new" models will be spotted.

Great recap James
Heres a few of the photos I took. To get a scale of the sheer vastness of models on display is difficult and its hard to focus in on a certain model as the ones beside it are just as good. Heres a few from Donies display
James surveying his fine Monte collection
I didnt know how much space we would have so only brought the ones Ive built myself.
Patrick also brought his huge collection of models. Must have taken him hours to remove them all from the bases as well

Well done guys, a very impressive display!
I hope Patrick's models had working handbrakes, they're parked quite close to the edge. And as usual the Italians already have the bonnet open.

Very imptressive indeed! Brilliant!!
I appreciate the DRM flyers attached at various points on the display. Very good and something I'll replicate when I'm displaying my 6R4s at Castle Coombe in September!!!
Thinking of which, I really like the blue and white background to the model labels. Could someone send me the template so I can use if on my display too, please?
Many thanks and many congratulations - removing that many screws from model bases may have caused some RSI, perhaps!!
Cheers, Steve

Steve, Ive got some business cards printed, came in useful Sunday as quite a few people were interested in getting one off cars made for themselves. These little labels are based on the colour scheme used in those, kind of unifies the while thing. The cards were printed before I took over running of the forum so its only by chance they are a similar colour (maybe since I spend so much time in here the colour scheme rubbed off)
You could make you your own, I can send you the file and you can change it around to whatever you like

Many thanks, Brian. The file would be very helpful and maybe start a whole corporate thing going. Have you any spare business cards too?

Yes Ted, and thanks to you for the Coleman West Cork Car.... API 100... a once off and of course another once off by you of Colemans Monte Carlo Alpine also thanks to you I had the loan of the Richie Healy Mk2 Escort......
There was a huge crowd at the event, great work by Carrig On Suir Motor Club.....all for charity.........its a super venue for any event.......great crack and banter with James, Michelle,Brian and Pat..........roll on the next show which will be Sunday 30 August in Ringaskiddy Co Cork.. That event is called CF 4 CF....ie "Classic Fords for Cystic Fibrosis"....so our model display will be Ford and Fords in Motorsport.....so everybody is welcome just leave us know as we kneed to to make maxium use of the space.....its all indoor in the Cork Ferry Port building.....another faberous venue.......I will open a new thread on this forum for this event.

Donie, I don't think I'll have anything to offer for the CF 4 CF event! hee! hee!
The ONLY Ford model I have to my name is in pieces awaiting transmorphing into a rallycross Escort Mk3!
If the event on the 30th August is anywhere near as good as the last one, you can be very pleased and proud. Good work!!
Cheers, Steve

James, Juha, what great pics! Nice going!
In and amongst the many Monte lovelies did I see a red and white MG 1100 by Vitesse? Is that a Code 3 or a Vitesse release? I haven't seen it before and being an MG.... I'm very interested!
Thanks again, guys. I'm humbled at the work in putting all those models out (and back again!), let alone collecting that number of models! I'll have to show my better half! She thinks I've got problems with my collection! She ain't seen nothing yet!
Cheers, Steve

I guess the one saving grace, Donie, is that we all have THE SAME problem!
