Re: New code 3 escort project
Can I ask a naive question? Are all the Escorts running 2500cc units running Millington engines? If not, what is the standard engine base used to create these cars?
Many thanks

Re: New code 3 escort project
Yes Colin the 2500 are Millington engines and now I believe gone to 2.6
I think the fact that the Escorts did have the RS 2000 that only 2000 cc will be allowed...................should know more tomorrow

Re: New code 3 escort project
A good 2 litre car driven by a good pilot can beat the 2.4s and 2.5s on some events
Re: New code 3 escort project
Many thanks for confirming these are Millington engines. I've had a quick google and it seems they could either be their own block castings or they may be based on the Cosworth YB block - bit of a techie question, but does anyone know?
Thanks!
Thanks!

The Millington diamond series engine was originally based on the YB, though the design of the diamond series is Roy Millingtons, it is a bespoke block and head which are both manufactured from cast allloy.
The latest series 2 plus engines are extremely effective and are in a number of current vehicles ranging from escorts, Darrians, protons, metros, etc. In the higher torque configuration they are producing in excess of 330ft/ lbs.
Mind you they want to for £28-32K plus VAT

Re: New code 3 escort project
Just a quick note to let you know that the next release from Irish Rally Models will be the Gary McPhillips Galway Summer winning car. That will be followed by the Mk2's of Daniel McKenna and Jonathan Pringle.
