Hi Olivier, excellent work there, if a slightly depressing subject! I suppose, the one very good thing that came out of this disaster was that Will Gollop developed a new car which had the twin-turbo engine, in which he took the European Championship!

I hope you take the co-driver's seat out before you finish, as rallycross cars don't have a second seat in them. Well, unless you ignore the second seat Rob Gibson put in his car last August to take me around Lydden Hill at speed!!

Thankfully, we got nowhere near that awful barrier/ 6R4 trap on the exit of Chessons Drift. It's the same barrier that ripped Lawrence Gibson's rallycross 6R4 apart too!

Lovely model, Olivier. Can't wait to see the finished work.

Not quite right Steve, as Will had in fact been using the 2.3L bi-turbo since Rd 3 of the 1990 British Rallycross Championship at Nutts Corner on 31 March 1990.

Following the above Lydden Hill aftermath, Will missed the last round of the 1991 European Rallycross Championship as he was concentrating on rebuilding his car (based on his show car by the way!), which eventually debuted at the 1991 Rallycross Grand Prix at Brands Hatch. It is this car that went on to win the 1992 ERC.

Interesting, David. Hadn't reaslised Will was using the twin turbo set up before the biggun that Olivier's modelled. Well, you learn something every day!!

Mike Capon We used to put a second seat in there for press days etc. While I was with Will it always came out for events though. It was always good fun scaring the journos. He even made Mark Skewis vomit once...
