Re: 1/18 AutoArt box dimensions
No real rush mate, and sorry to hear you're unwell.
I have taken a delivery for an Internationally-based forum member, and I need to post the model on to him. I took it to the Post Office today and they will only take packages under 2kg in weight (which it wasn't!), and under 90cm in dimensions, ie height + width + length (which it wasn't also!).
Without unpacking it, I was wondering if anybody can tell me the dimensions so I can work out if it will fit under Royal Mail's 90cm limit. If it doesn't then there's no point unpacking it, and it will have to go via Parcelforce or another courier.
Hope you feel better soon mate - just tell the good lady it's MAN FLU and I'm sure you'll get all the sympathy you deserve!

ha, sounds like you've met the wife m8!!
i'm surprised about that, all my single 1:18's bought or sold have fitted into the standard small parcel rate, which is up to 2kg.........is the packaging a bit over-the-top?

Re: 1/18 AutoArt box dimensions
It is to be fair mate - 3" or 4" of cardboard all around the model and then packed within a larger box. I'm sure I can get the weight and size down to within their limits. It's all new ground for me though mate, as I'm only used to dealing with tiny ones!
Re: 1/18 AutoArt box dimensions
Ill measure it up against my Autoart C4 in a few mins if i can find a measuring tape

33cm x 14cm x17cm
Model and box weight 1.054 kg, however this model does not have opening doors, so one with those would weight a little more

Re: 1/18 AutoArt box dimensions
That is superb Brian - thank you!
33cm + 14cm + 17cm adds up to 64cm, so that's under Royal Mail's 90cm size limit. With your's weighing just over 1kg, I'm sure the opening doors on this model won't double the weight so I am quite optimistic that I can repack it under the 2kg weight limit.
Thanks again Brian.

David, sorry to put a spanner in your works, but the Aa box sizes changed a few years ago. There are at least two sizes. What is the model so we can give you the right size?

Re: 1/18 AutoArt box dimensions
Thanks Mal for bringing the larger box to my attention, and to you Brian for re-measuring. Luckily for me - and the owner! - the three dimensions still add up to less than 90cm so I should be OK. I just need to go on a diet now.......
Re: 1/18 AutoArt box dimensions
Send it down to me David, il strip all the unnessecary weight off it.............like the body, doors, chassis, interior etc. Your friend will get a lovely box of packaging when he opens it
