1982 Rally Antibes inc Terry Kaby HSR

First time ever seen this footage however remember the story in Rally Sport at the time. Not sure how Terry Kaby came to be doing the rally in an HSR however apparantley he made a bit of an impression on the French fans who ended up shouting for him as much as the home grown Saby!

Here you go the reply from someone who was at Blydensteins…

Just looked in Graham Robson’s Chevette book (must be correct, I gave him all the info at the time!) and see that Terry K and Rob Arthur were entered on the 1982 Rallye Antibes by GM Dealer Sport (who took over from DTV from the end of ‘81) in Chevette HSR FER 688W which was driven in ’80 by Pentti and in ‘81 by Tony Pond.

Kaby/Arthur finished 2nd in Antibes; Kaby did 5 ERC events in 1982 and finished 23rd in the table.

Terry drove the 2.6 Clubmans HSR privately for Bill in the Castrol Autosport Championship in ‘82 and won four events.

Watching the vid again was surprised at the amount of loose on that rally as always thought of it as a tarmac event.
