Utrecht model fair

I seem to get hauled into various facebook groups. Some blossom and others die. The current one that is in full flow is a diecast model page.
A useful/useless piece of info that appeared on the page is something I have not previously heard of  - the quote below is lifted from that page :

every two months Europe's largest model car fair is held near Utrecht, in the Netherlands.
Having been there as both a seller and shopper I can say its scale (forgive the pun!) is unparalleled...more than 2 kilometers of tables selling anything related to diecast cars and trucks with vendors from all over Europe too.

So I finally made it over. The place was vast and after three hours I was pretty tired. I went seeking what for me is the holy grail-the 1/8 Audi Quattro that was released as a build it yourself over 100 issues. The 5 Maxi Turbo and 911 below are similar releases. The Maxi turbo was €1200 and weighed in at 5Kg or so the vendor told me. I hoped to find the Quattro for sale in a box with the 100 issues required and had a budget if I found one but no luck. Lots of overpriced OTTOs and nothing that you couldn't find on eBay but amazing to see no many model heads and sellers too. My AUDI car key is for scaling purposes.

Worth the trip so ?

Worth the trip if only to see the amazing sight of so many models and people milling around buying. The flight was €89 return as I booked so far ahead-Aer Lingus. Train to Houten via Utrecht from the airport was 50 mins then a bus 20 mins to the Expo. Then took a bus back to Utrecht central and into Amsterdam 50 mins.  Met up with some friends for a night in Amsterdam and home Sunday. I know there are transport and trucker fans on here too so it worth going to see all the model trucks and truck kit part suppliers. If you think rally models ar bad you should see the truck kits. The only downside was getting up at 4 am to get the airport for the 6 am flight.
