Loeb returns for 3 in 2018
As it says Sebastian Loeb will return for 3 rounds of the WRC in 2018 replacing Craig Breen
But Breen will get all the other rounds as will Kris Meeke who will do every round..

Good news for Meeke. Hope he holds it together and the car is better for him.

That entire Citroen operation is getting more weird by the day. What use is there putting Loeb in ? With just 2 cars they have already given up on the manufacturers Championship. What purpose is served by bringing him back for 3 rallies ? Comebacks are rarely, if ever successful - even the great Schumacker couldn't achieve that. Was there not a rumour a few weeks back that a certain WRC team manager was for the chop ?

Can#'t see the point except if the car is still a shed then even Loebe will have his hands full with it! Pity for Breen but he nearly has a full program and he will have his day too!

My understanding is that the Ciroen diff is a right pig, so if Loeb can bring some of his magic to the hardware (and software!) Coitroen may be able to build something to be competitive for 2019. Maybe!
So long as Loeb is competing in the top flight of World Rallycross, I'll be a happy bunny!!
Cheers, Steve

They need some good luck as the other three are going to be seriously strong next season

I'm with James on this one. Can't understand them taking the drives from Breen when Qassimi's car will be available more often. Operation wind-down?

When Usain Bolt got beaten in the World Championships this year it was IMO a case of should have quit at the top and get the same vibe with Loeb but guess the team have used some of the budget to bolster his pension. Its a shame for Craig and hope that instead of making him sit those events out that they find some way of getting him the "privateer" car that PH have now got or at least the R5 car as he needs to improve experience on all events. It is bizarre that they (Citroen) see it fit to give their No2 driver an in-complete programme however they are French...

So why is Loeb doing Mexico (6 x winner), Corsica (4 x winner) & Spain (8 x winner), bit of a clue there, but its all about road position.
Like him or not Colin Clark is a lot closer to the action than any of us and his regular Kitchen Tables ramblings are an insight into our sport.
This one is all about Loeb, Citroen, road position, Meeke & Breen

Re: Loeb returns for 3 in 2018
Loeb is competing with team mate Timmy Hansen in the first round of the British Rallycross Championship on 17th March 2018.
Why is that, you may ask? Well, the 17th March is the first time Rallycross will be taking place at Silverstone, so M. Loeb, Herr Hansen and fellow WRX competitor M. Chicherit are all trying out the new venue before the WRX circus arrives there in May. Good move for them, great for us spectators!
Bring it on!!
