Base model availability?
Post 2016 Race Retro, I now find myself looking for some non-Metro 6R4 base models - I know, what's occurring? - and haven't got a clue what is out there, what are the most suitable or best castings, and what is available at 'affordable' prices.
These are the models that I'm looking for and the relevant scales...
...1/43 Mk1 Escort with 'bubble' arches - fairly common I would have thought?
...1/18 mid 1990s (Mk4) Mini Cooper S - I've seen a Bburago 'Gold Collection' 1994(?) Monte Carlo Rally base model?
...1/18 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6.5 Tommi Makinen Edition - in red with black & white stripes, and having seen the inflated prices that AutoArt models go for, I'm hoping there's another option available?
Many thanks!

Kyosho make a very nice mini, detail is very good, Bburago make a mini but quality is not great. Autoart also make a new shape mini

Only the Autoart car available, and no others that I know of have been announced. They have been fetching big money for years but it would be your only option. Far cheaper to go the 1/24 route here if you can

Re: Base model availability?
Many thanks for your input, Brian - very much appreciated.
I'm not spending AutoArt prices for their TME Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6.5 just to personalise a numberplate for the guy, so I've suggested that he either buys one himself for me to adjust, or I will build him a Tamiya 1/24 scale plastic kit instead - at least prices of those are reasonable.
I'm still looking for a suitable Mini Cooper base, but I acknowledge your thoughts and advice. Cheers mate.
What about a white rally spec arched Mk1 Escort?... ...Trofeu I assume?

Re: Base model availability?
Go for the Greenlight MK1 Escort
Needs the striping taking off, but nail varnish remover is good for it and the model has a full cage
