everything crossed...... though I fear he would need ogier to make a mistake or have a car problem.....

Re: Wales Rally GB
I think Ogier did make a mistake on s11 as meeke took a chunk of time off ogier who took 4 back the next stage. Meeke leads by 2 secs after 12 stages

Re: Wales Rally GB
CORRECTION - Ogier was forced to stop due to Neuville rolling his car. They examined video footage and credited him 31 seconds which meant he won S11 and is 30 seconds in the lead overall from Meeke

Re: Wales Rally GB
Strong 2nd overall for Kris. If Matton doesn't re-new his contract there really isn't any justice!
Breen third in WRC2 after a puncture derailed his charge early on.

Mature drive from Meeke. Knew Ogier was never catchable but understood the importance of securing 2nd in the manufacturers for Citroen. I think that will keep him a seat next year.

Re: Wales Rally GB
Absolutely great drive by Kris and Paul, especially with the pressure of the need to get a good result for the team. Yves Matton would be mad not to give him a seat next year as realistically he's the only one of the present drivers that can get near the Polo's. Then Hyundai are looking at him, and they have a new car for next year and want the best drivers that are available. Ford? Looks like there may be a seat available.. Interesting few weeks ahead!

Re: Wales Rally GB
There was an interesting forum held before Rally Spain by Nicky Porter where he told us about the latest service area gossip...
I cant remember all that was said but this is some of it..
Haydon Paddon has signed a three year contract with Hyundai....which would indicate that they will be around for three years
Most drivers are stalling on signing new three year contracts...Why? They all want the no1 seat at Toyota when they come back. Its easier to move if you are on a one year contract.
Much discussion as to Tomi Makinen preparing these new Toyotas, in Finland. Yes they are near three of the WRC rounds but generally they are along way from all events on the calendar. He thought that Toyotas old base in Germany would be more likely, but would Tomi move from Finland?
Much talk about the VW steamroller...
Much about Kris Meeke...clearly the telemetery shows KM to be quick. BUT he needs to be consistent and finish regularly and higher up the standings. With the Rally GB result he may just have saved his seat. But how much longer has he got?
When Ostberg was replaced by Lefebvre recently as a one off drive, Lefebvre has not gone back to his old team but has sort of retained his seat. Pressure here on Meeke and Ostberg. Could Citroen run a second team like the second VW team?
Who to Ford. Tanak has not really delivered, Evans is still young and learning, but who would replace them, Neuville?
Craig Breen failed to win the ERC title this year, but as a previous champion he is now at a crossroads, what does he do next? Is there a seat in WRC for him?
All good stuff for the pub debate.....
Finally back to Rally GB this year and Kris Meeke finishing second. He was desparate to win...Why? It was 20 years since Colin Mcrae's victory on Rally GB/Network Q to win the WRC title. As McRae's protege what a very personal victory it would have been for Kris Meeke if he could have done it?
CD

John Millington retired from M-Sport at the weekend and was given a rather nice gift. Cant see this appearing on Ebay anytime soon!

Re: Wales Rally GB
Personally I think Meeke will stay with Citroen. I do hope so and I think if he does he will be better and faster as he is use to the car and team plus if he does he won't have the hassle of adapting to another car/team. Lets hope Citroen use there common sense.

VW is of course a better place for him but im being selfish as i'd love to see the blue oval more competitive.

Re: Wales Rally GB
Citroen are out but on the plus side, they are developing a car for 2017 which means they will hang around (if of course they will actually come back and its not just a smoke screen).
Hopefully Citroen will do what they did in 2006 and use Kronos as there unofficial team for the year while the work on the new car.
