Reason for Meeke's slow time on SD!

Thanks for the update. I note that Kubica is stepping down from WRC next year - must be the cost of repairs....

Re: Rally Cataluyna WRC Spain
Meeke in 5th after SS2 apparantley even with 3 minute gaps the dust is really bad. Kubica in 2nd though! Can only mean a Fiesta shaped hole somewhere in the Spanish countryside soon!
Looking at some of the pics and vids from yesterday looks like the Spanish fans are just as mad as ever...

Re: Rally Cataluyna WRC Spain
Well i didnt predict that! Ogier tanks it on the last stage and Mikkelsen snatches a maiden WRC win. Latvala 2nd, then Sordo. Meeke 5th 2 secs behind his team mate.

Re: Rally Cataluyna WRC Spain
Photos from Rallye Spain 2015 last weekend.
I used to take loads of photos back in the 80s and 90s with decent equipment, but nowadays I can’t be bothered to lug all the gear around. So all these are taken on a pocket camera a Nikon Coolpix with a x8 zoom. I just play about and if anything good comes out I am quite pleased otherwise I bin them. These look OK though???
Very dusty and hot on the Shakedown and on Day 1 with no wind. Day 2 & 3 are on tarmac . Temperatures throughout were 20+. Easy FREE access for all stages, why do I want to go to pay and see Rally GB in the cold and wet?
We passed all the spectators clinging to the hills around the last stage as we headed for the finish. We didn’t know about all the drama with Ogier until we got to the finish.
All the cars look brilliant in tarmac spec The VWs were visibly quicker on most place we watched them and looked really good. Brilliant result for Mikkelssen and thoroughly deserved having played third fiddle to Ogier and Latvala for long enough. Fair play to the Norwegian fans and all their flags who cheered Mikkelssen to the rafters on the ramp, but also cheered all the other Scandinavian drivers and stayed to the very last car to cheer them in to. Not many would do that?
From Shakedown
Day 1 Terra Alta stage very dusty
Max Vatanen not having the best of rallies
Day 2 Tarmac but not good for the camera, lack of practice!!
Day 3 Tarmac much better… Pratdip or Brad Pit stage as drivers refer to it.
At the finish
Khalid al Qasimi
If you have not been to Rallye Spain, its well worth it.

Re: Rally Cataluyna WRC Spain
Thanks for all the comments. Not bad for a £100 camera!!
For sure the good sunny weather helped in giving better depth of field.
Digital photos are not good at showing wheel movement but some of these show it very well.
Check out the Meeke & Osberg Citroens near the end of the photos. Each has a different wheel speed, very odd!!
Watched the ITV 4 coverage this evening and spotted myself on one corner and our group on two others.
Cheers
