Re: 2016 BRC Calender
..that the Sunseeker is missing is probably no surprise, but no Manx Rally might be more of a surprise omission

They are hoping for ERC status again but also rumours that WRC status could be on the cards. I think the combination of BRC, ITRC and ERC would make a great event
Re: 2016 BRC Calender
I hadn't paid attention to the move away from Easter. With Ulster being both BRC and ITRC it might be the right year to fill that gap in my list of Irish rallies.
Re: 2016 BRC Calender
Disappointed that the Sunseeker isn't present - what a slap in the face for southern softie rally fans like myself and for the organisers of that event, especially as they were on the verge of signing a multi year sponsorship deal just before the MSA pulled the plug last year. Manx is also a surprising omission. The key will be the car format on whether this will revitalise a championship which has run since 1958.

Re: 2016 BRC Calender
Lots of noise on the main British rally forum regarding the choice of events however as its a new promoter and events had to tender to be included in the championship its not surprising that some events that would have been "shoe-ins" in the past are missing. Ironically the highest proportion of R5 cars are either in Northern England or Scotland and Ireland so there hopefully should be no shortage of potential participants! Agree the Manx is an interesting omission and although I know the Sunseeker/Dorset had divided opinion from a purely geographical spread basis it would have made sense to include it.
Hopefully this will really be a new dawn for the BRC (they may have to change the name as the Belgian series also uses this tag) and not just another promoter trying to milk it dry.
