I'm sure James will have a pic or two to share but found these, (all by Ted O Connel) and thought ye might like to see them. Well done, James.

It really looks to have been a fantastic display of models, I'd love to see more pictures! Is there a list anywhere of what models were there? It would be interesting to see what all CoI cars have been modelled and by whom

Sorry folks. I have been up to my eyes putting it together and dismantling it. It did not help that I missed most of Sunday participating on the actual run itself. A huge word of thanks to Donie Lucey who pretty much wrote off his Easter to help set up on Friday and Saturday, man the display on Sunday and helped dismantle and transport it home on Monday not to mention bring his models to include in the display. Likewise it would not have happened without Sean Buckley who did the lions share of the decal work, was there on Friday for the setting up and on Saturday and Sunday to debox and man the display. Brian Webster made and decalled models for the display and Niall O'Sullivan again helped with the setup and contributed models as did Ted Creedon. Behind the scenes were a whole host of forum members who contributed in many ways including Eddie who used his contacts and opened his treasure trove of photos for my benefit. To one and all I say thank you. The event overtook the organisers by surprise as to its popularity and the way it caught the imagination of so many so there were no programmes or other such items for sale. However entrants did get a roadbook and the forum did get a mention and I apologise to anyone whose contribution I did not acknowledge. I will take some photos of the said roadbook. I did take photos of the setup and we will get them up here.
I started with a list of 120 models stripped it back to 80 and it then mushroomed to 200. Not all the models made it over the line but we had approx 150 models on the day. The full 200 will be completed at a more leisurely pace and will form part of the upcoming display that Donie will be putting on in November in Dromtarriffe Hall just outside Millstreet.
To get back to the question above - it astonished us how many COI models have not been done. Upwards of 150 of the models are one offs but to be fair a number of theses date back into the 40's 50's and 60's.
To Chris Derbyshire - I'm afraid I stole your thunder - I had a model of your friends AUI 1500 on display !!!! Inevitably I forgot to thank someone and Chris your photos went down a storm. I had people asking if they were for sale - so much happened in such a short space of time . It was one of those weekends where you wished you had a 72 hour day to try to meet and speak with all those you would have liked.

Well done everyone it sounds like the model display went down really well.
Looking forward to seeing more photos.
It looks like the road run was a bit damp, JOB with the roof down on the XK?
As for AUI 1500 hope you have the right body style for this Curley Porsche? I have Mark's model here ready to send to him this week .
As for the old photos, did you or Eddie manage to track down where the old town street scene was?
Cheers
Chris

The XK never had a roof !!! But neither did it have indicators, a heater or seatbelts. Curley porsches were easy - its bases for the Nelson Porsches are the trouble. Photos went down very well but the town scene remains a mystery. With your permission can I post it on facebook and someone might recognise it. The generation that attended were mainly 1960's so 1950's photos were a decade too old for most of them. Facebook will get a much wider audience.
Thanks
James

James
Of course if we can find out where it was taken would be a good thing.
Eddie thinks it might be Dundalk?
What base did you use for your Curley Porsche?
Cheers
