Re: Of interest to those in Belgium
That requires a visit.
I just hope they aren't the same 500 I have at home.

Re: Of interest to those in Belgium
Using Google translate, I got this:
500 miniature rally cars just settled in the attic of Malmundarium. Both Malmedy Christian Fischer and Pierre Dawirs collect for many years they make these cars as faithful as possible to the four-wheeler in which rolled their favorite drivers."We tried to trace the Belgian rally since 1982 until today by miniature cars," says Christian Fischer. These small cars have not just been purchased in boxes. Some were built from A to Z by both collectors. "In the early 1980s, when I started to get interested in miniatures, a kit to build cost between 2500 and 4000 Belgian francs. When we have a kit of resin or metal, one must self-assembly: degreasing, paint, decals ask ... to make such a car you see here "Another solution exists according to Christian Fischer. : buy mass-produced cars and customize them so that they close as possible to those used by the Belgian drivers. In addition to the cars, drivers, photos and biographies are displayed in four languages at the exhibition. Regional pilots are honored as Stavelotain Marc Duez or St. Vithois Thierry Neuville and other well-known drivers rally fans: Büx, Thiry, Droogmans, Snijers ... "I also sought drivers who lent objects to trace their career: helmets, cuts, combinations ... "You can even find the door of a car in which one of the pilots had crashed! What pleases probably for speed lovers is to sit in the pilot and copilot seats placed in the exhibition, put on their helmets and ears look ahead footage filmed from a car as if they were, themselves, the actors an authentic rally racing, mud and less.
From 4 April to 27 September to Malmundarium. Driver dedication May 30
Hope this helps David

Juha
If you go to see it can you please post up some photos for us all?
I remember a model shop at Stavelot (just up the road from the Spa circuit) village a few years ago. It was a fruit and veg shop at the front and at the back a model shop!!
As well as loads of models to buy there were loads just on display many were converted by them into Belgium drivers.
Cheers

No idea how many I have, but it's somewhere between 500 and 800.
150 of which are 6R4's. Don't have an exact number.

Found my list again, at the start of the year it was 479, or 676 including base models. Don't think I'm at 500 yet, not bought much lately.

Thanks for the photos!
Is there anything else of interest other than the models? I have most of them, but I see some interesting one offs.

Re: Of interest to those in Belgium
Super photos of a super display. I particularly like the two Duez BMW M3's. Must chase up photos from Condroz. Hopefully Piotr will do the COI M3.
Thanks scooby-doo1962. I have a base and some photos to get a Rothmans Cortina done - thanks to a number of the members on here who spotted the photos on an Australian Muscle car magazine via the Rothmans group on Facebook.
I really like looking at displays such as this and regret the fact that we cannot access Xav's photos from the old forum.

Re: Of interest to those in Belgium
James, the Condroz M3 was available at Bal Miniatures, don't know if he has any left.
Actually there aren't many one offs among them. Most of the rare models were available as either decals by Rallye Miniatures, CB Com, Renaissance, or as limited edition models by Rallying4Belgium or Bal Miniatures. Even the blue Citroën Visa can still be bought - which reminds me I don't have one yet. The only one offs I spotted are the Renault 8 and a few Escorts in the Bruno Thiry display and about 1/3 of the Duez models. I'm impressed with some of them, especially the red 911.

No, not for me, for every driver there was explications like this:
just overalls, a few pictures and a few crashed panels, hope you understand what I mean
the red Duez Porsche is really good looking

Re: Of interest to those in Belgium
I am very good at "not so good pictures" so please put them all up.
The photos, text and background material look professionally produced and of a very high quality. Did you have to pay to gain entry as those display cases are not cheap either ? I suppose what I am asking is how was it financed ?
